    His Holiness the Dalai Lama says he has three major commitments in life: promoting human values, creating inter-religious harmony and understanding and speaking on behalf of his people. In carrying out these commitments, His Holiness has encouraged dialogue not only between Tibetans and Chinese but also between Buddhism and modern science. Because of this, there is an increasing appreciation of the values of the Tibetan Buddhist civilization from the Chinese in China and outside and also from the scientific community.
