As with all remarkable leaders, he is a great communicator, able to reach, touch and inspire people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds. When we first met, it seemed as though we were old friends meeting again after being separated for a very long time. His candor, humility, compassion, wisdom and easygoing bursts of laughter remained constant in all of our meetings through the years.
