I’m going to dare to say something really bold. We often ignite the fires we spend a lot of time running around to put out. In other words, we cause our kids to misbehave. Not always—they are growing and learning, and they have their own minds and spirits. But they also are mirrors, reflecting back to us the ugliest parts of ourselves. . The sour attitude. The sharp tongue. They listen to how we talk to our partners, their siblings, them … They listen and they repeat our tone.
