    Waughman commanded the same basic crew of seven airmen plus a special duty operator in two Lancaster bombers between 1943-44. The crew became very close friends and worked as one to survive. “We all became a big band of brothers and we just gelled, it reallyfinal decision to make, but you were just another crewmember.”
