About this audiobook

Kristin Burns is making her way in New York City. Her photos are being considered at a major Manhattan gallery, she works by day with two wonderful children, and the man of her dreams is almost hers for keeps. But just as everything she's ever wanted is finally within reach, her life changes forever--with one murderous nightmare.

Kristin wakes up every morning from the same chilling, unforgettable dream. And suddenly, it's visiting her during the day too. As her life turns stranger by the minute, Kristin is haunted and terrified. Is it all in her head? Or is the nightmare becoming her life?

Kristin searches desperately for what's real through the lens of her camera, only knowing two things for sure: that no place is safe and the fate of everyone she loves lies in her hands.

I really liked the book. Contained twists & turns throughout the entire plot that kept you guessing the whole time. Although you could kind of see what was coming, you just knew you were wrong before finding out you were right. The ending leaves you hanging and I'm really hoping another book will follow this one.

Could have used some fine tuning. Overall, I have always loved James Patterson's novels, especially his earlier works. I wanted "You've been Warned" to be another exciting read, but I'm afraid that I was really disappointed. The characters were boring and some didn't make sense as to what part they played in the story. The book started out fine; full of suspense, action and it kept reading page after page, then near the end of the book it just came to abrupt end. I thought I misread something or missed an entire chapter. I didn't. I think the story could have used a lot of fine tuning. If you a fan like me and still want to read the book, it's my suggestion that you save some money or check it out at your library.

I loved this book. It made you wonder what the character was warned against. It was great and I just couldn't quit reading it. And the ending surprised me and I usually see the ending coming.

The marketeers deserve to have their collective wrists slapped over the awful covers for this supernatural thriller. Scared of putting off the regular fan base they disguise this unusual approach from Patterson as just another cop thriller. With that uncertainty hanging over the novel it's going to disappoint, however if readers know what they are getting then the story is so much more enjoyable. The usual Patterson twists are present as the story follows a nanny, with a passion for photography, as she becomes embroiled in a tale of love and betrayal. With the trademark short chapters keeping the story flowing there is a little frustration at times when the story continues to offer few answers, chapter after chapter. Naturally the story wraps up and the although the journey is mostly an enjoyable one, it lacks a feeling of satisfaction once the final page is turned. A good effort at something different and Patterson fans, who know what they are getting, shouldn't be too disappointed.

How does James Patterson put his name on these novels? It is very clear the entire book was written by Howard Roughan, as the style, narrative and story were NOTHING remotely like James Patterson. This is one of those novels that I accidentally grabbed when I saw the James Patterson name, started reading and then had to check to see if James Patterson's name really was on the front cover. The book is just not good. The plot is very thin at best, the dialogue and writing miss the mark at almost every turn and the ending is so forgettable, I've already forgotten it. Do yourself a favor, and if you are a fan of James Patterson, only read the novels with his name as the only one them (Women's Murder Club being the sole exception).

Read 2009. OK Not one of his best. Photographer works as a nanny for a wealthy family. Accidentially takes street pictures of 4 bodies in a crime scene.

This type of fiction is a bit of a pleasant departure from the normal detective fiction that Patterson writes. The story moved along, and the characters (for the most part) were well developed. semi-predictable twist at the end.

Definately not one of James Pattersons better books. I have read so many of his books that I normally dont even read what they are about I just buy them, but this one disappointed me. Wasn't the fast flowing, page turner that I have expected from him. He has tried to do something different and it has failed.

I guess to make this interesting I should write about something that I did not find absolutely wonderful. You've been warned is James Patterson's attempt to do something a little different. From what I can tell he should have stuck with what works. To be fair, I'm not big on the common mystery novel. I find most of them flat, cliche, and predictable. I generally know what's going to happen halfway through the book and that bores me. I like to be surprised and there's little to be surprised at in mystery novels (go figure. Maybe they should change the name of the genre). So, this is the first James Patterson novel I've read. When I didn't care for it, I looked online to see what others thought just in case my bias was getting the way. I found a wide range of people either loving it or hating it for the exact same reasons I did.The protagonist is unlikable and has no depth. She is a woman trying to make it as a photographer, though we know little of that aside from her constantly taking pictures and her one remark that she's being considered at a gallery. She never once interacts with that gallery or tells us about the pieces being considered. Guess that's not important to the storyline but those little details make things more interesting. Until her own life gets started she works as a nanny for a wealthy couple. Right at the very beginning you find out she's having an affair with the children's father. Lovely. Throughout the story she struggles to understand the meaning of a recurring dream. I was profoundly disappointed in the ending. I found it lacked imagination, like he gave up trying to write and just put the first cliche and easy idea that came to him.

After buying several Patterson books for my sister for Christmas or birthday gifts over the years, I decided to see what he was like. I enjoyed the pacing of the story -- often feeling myself pulled through the pages. Unfortunately, the story sort of falls apart at the end. I will definitely be checking out more of his books, though.

discusting. I was not expecting to be preached how. Insulting, vile, repulsive. Not that Patterson is a great write, but I was expecting it to be written a bit better. I want my money and time back

Someone is going crazy - Is it the heroine Kris, the author or me for reading this book. Not my favorite, I expect more from James Patterson.

I really didn't enjoy this book. As another reviewer said, I read the book because I wanted to see how on earth this was going to end. I was disappointed!Even when you know the end, it's hard to make sense of in the overall story. Not recommended.

I'm don't usually like books written in the present tense or with such short chapters but this was worth the read (albeit a rather quick read) and kept my interest to the end. I haven't read James Patterson before and if this is a good example of his work I will be reading more.

You've NOW been warned not to bother with this book. Pseudo-horror crap, no good resolution, big print, big spaces between lines, short (2page) chapters. Will give it a rating of 1 because I did read the whole thing, hoping that it would resolve in a logical manner...nope.

I put James Patterson aside a while ago, tiring of his crime fiction as they managed to become shallower in plot and character with every book I read. I picked this copy up in Oxfam (for 99p in pristine condition) and decided to give him another chance. I can’t say he hasn’t changed. He’s become a whole new author (hello, Mr. Roughan). There’s still an unsatisfactory lack of depth in everything from character to ability to convince the reader to suspend disbelief, or to even keep from rolling our eyes at the clichéd images. I still believe there’s a lot of creep to be found around the topic of cameras, but recycling lame ideas isn’t going to cut it. The principle character’s dreams, while obvious, were at least written with relish but if it had taken me more than an evening to finish this book, I wouldn’t have picked it up again. As it was, I made it to the end and instantly wished I’d stopped reading during the previous ‘ending’/paragraph, which at least didn’t negate the entire plot of the damn book.In summary: Oxfam can have it back. It’s still in pristine condition, apart from where I chewed the spine in disgust at what the male authors still believe women to consider romantic *performs clichéd girlish EYEROLL*

listened to 5 of the 6 cd's. It got too creepy for me. I'm used to Pattersons mysteries and this was more haunting. Kristin is having an affair with the father of the kids she watches daily. She had horrible dreams that leave her screaming. She takes pictures that are weird and pertain to a future that hasn't happened. I think others would really like it.....I just prefer his mysteries.
