About this audiobook

Book Four of The Sword of Truth—the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule—returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for three thousand years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one—even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Different voice as previous audiobooks, pronounces names differently. Really annoying.

ugh! narrator doesn't pronounce names correctly. it's frustrating instead of kahlan he pronounces it almost as collin. also, narrator pronounces Addy as aide-y.

Terrible narrator. Obviously he has no clue about the series of books. had to quit listening 6 chapters into the book. Very disappointing.

The narrator changes the pronunciations of the names (for example instead of Kahlan he pronounces it almost as Collin, as well as others...) from the previous narrators. I still enjoy the story but it's a bit difficult to listen to the changes in the pronunciations. However, there are other voice effects that are used that add to the experience, such as an eerie echo when the spirts talk.

I would like this audiobook much more if the name Kahlin wasn't pronounced Collin and other such mispronunciation. Seriously anyone taking over narrating a series should do more homework. I suffered through to get to the next book as I saw he doesn't narrate book 5. I must have angrily screamed the corrected name hundreds of times as that's 10% of the amount of times her name came up in this book. So Dike Hull, do better!

First off the narrator is difficult to get used. Some of the pronunciations are off. If you have been listening to the previous audiobooks its difficult to make the change to his style. That being said, he does have quite the range for voices and gives energy to the characters. It does get better as you go. As for the stroy i found it quite entertaining a few moments especially in the back half of the book really hit me. Cough... Entering the temple cough.. cough.. over all I would recommend it.

The way he pronounces khalan is terrible. Have fun enjoying the sound of mother confessor “colin” throughout the whole audio book. Other than that it was enjoyable.

The original narrator on the cassette tapes was the best narrator. This is the 4th voice narrating in the series on this app. The lack of continuity kills me. This has nothing to do with the actual story tho. I wish Brilliance Audio would have kept with one narrator.

Just trash. Ok I know this series was the ultimate in the 80s and 90s, but this book was the final straw. The emphasis on Kahlan's period, the betrayal of her supposedly having sex with Richard but thinking he was not Richard. Her whiny Oh Richard every ten minutes. Ugh. I am done with this series. The writing is poor. The book dragged. The authors love of s&m is tiresome. Done.

The narrator was just so awful I could not make it through the story. The story itself is terrific, like the rest of the SoT series, but the accent which was incredibly annoying made me stop (sounded like an erratic mix between Boston street thug and a southern British accent, I couldn't even follow who was talking). I switched to the regular book and will read it on my own, then continue on with the series in audiobook form. The narrator made Richard sound incredibly arrogant and cold, which is unlike his character. So disappointed! That narrator needs a new line of work. Not to mention his pronunciation was unforgivable. How hard would it have been to listen to previous audiobooks and stay consistent (Brilliance Audio should be ashamed and redo the book with someone else to read it.)

Good book, well read, but why does the reader pronounce the mother confessors name as «Colin»?

Book was great but it had blank spots. I would rewind and the narration would stop at the same point. Very annoying

Great story. Traditional fantasy but very much missed in it's ferocity, rage and gore. My I've major critique is the main characters are so naive it's frustrating. They make the same mistake, even after vowing to never do then again, always heading to disaster and always saved by a stroke of luck or destiny or spirits. Narration was awesome.
