About this audiobook

They're here.

They ride.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell's minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride . . .

ROGUE RIDER

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues-and falls for-a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man who can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

*ARC received from NetGalleyRogue Rider is the 4th installment of the LORDS OF DELIVERANCE series and Larissa wraps things up with a beautiful bow in this 'final' release.I have been a HUGE Larissa Ione fan since the day I discovered her first DEMONICA novel. When the LORDS OF DELIVERANCE series kicked off I was immediately drawn in. The world is grand and compelling, the characters are unique and complex, the storylines are action packed and full of beautiful romance and drama...in short, they're a Paranormal Romance lover's dream! After Ares', Limos' and Than's books, I was wondering how in the world Larissa would be able to redeem Reseph and give him a believable happily ever after. After all of the death and destruction he caused as Pestilence and the hate-on he earned from me as a reader because of it, I couldn't draft out an idea in my head of how Larissa could spin it, wrap it up and make me love him again. I shouldn't have worried.Following the climactic ending of Lethal Rider, Rogue Rider starts out with Reseph as an amnesiac back in the human realm. When he's discovered by Jillian, a gorgeous young woman healing from a traumatic past, they start to undertake the journey of discovering Reseph's story together and get more than they could ever bargained for. This book was chock full of goodness and I so badly want to tell you all about it but I just don't do spoilers in my reviews, so I will simply say this... there was mystery, intrigue, betrayal, forgiveness, heartache and loss, healing and romance, epic surprises, and so much more - all tied into the world we've come to know and love and the characters we can't get enough of. Here are some key points that I can share:*Reseph will probably never forgive himself for everything that he did as Pestilence and having Jillian in his life is going to make dealing with things both easier and harder because their paths have crossed before. However, he couldn't have found a more perfect mate. *Reseph's family deals with his return in varying ways, and there is going to be a long road of trust rebuilding ahead!*One of the epic surprises in this book is an incredible set up for the next book and its hero (FYI: Larissa is merging the 2 series even more in the next installment due out Summer of '13).Rogue Rider was wonderful and LITERAL ADDICTION gives it 4 1/2 Skulls.I HIGHLY recommend all of Larissa's books! With that said, I suggest that readers start with her DEMONICA series and then move on to her LORDS OF DELIVERANCE novels - in order - to fully appreciate the brilliance. Trust me, you will not be sorry you did...

Jullian Cardiff's life was forever changed when she was viciously attacked by demons. She retreated from the world moving into the hills of Colorado where she could live secluded from the world. Everything was going safely till one day she found a naked man in a snowbank. His name, Reseph or Pestilence as he is better known has lost his memory and needs her help. Jullian thought her life was changed majorly when she was attacked, ha ha she has not seen anything yet.

Everyone seems to want Pestilence, some to kill him, some to release his wrath back upon the world. Demons look for their master, he must remember who he is. What will happen to the world when he does ? Oh boy, you better hold on because this is one E ticket ride.

Fantastically dark, romantic, hopeful, evil, demonic and yet weirdly sweet. This edition to The Horsemen covers all the emotions. I enjoyed the ride completely. This is not a books to be missed, a few MAJOR secrets will be reviled.

Rogue Rider is the fourth and highly anticipated story of Reseph, Horseman of the Apocalypse, aka Pestilence, the horseman who went band and almost destroyed the world. Rogue Rider picks up soon after the events of Lethal Rider. Reseph wakes up naked in the snow with no memory of who his is or how he got there. Jillian is out preparing for a storm when she finds him. Living out in the middle of nowhere while recovering from a demon attack, Jillian is wary of Reseph but decides to take him in. While trying to figure out Reseph’s past, they start to fall for each other. But when a string of violent murders occur in the area, Reseph starts to suspect that he may be the one putting Jillian in danger. The first half of the book focuses on Jillian and Reseph’s love story. I really liked Jillian. She’s a survivor. She made it through a vicious demon attack and, though she is still recovering, she is capable and knows how to take care of herself. And I liked that, even though Reseph wanted to take care of her in some instances, he also knew that she was strong and didn’t treat her like a damsel in distress. Reaver put them together so that they could help heal each other and I think they did. With Jillian, Reseph learned to be himself without all of the pressures of being a Horseman and without the knowledge of what Pestilence had done. And in Reseph, Jillian found a partner who admired her strength but who would also support her. Of course things don’t just go right to happily ever after. After learning that their brother is alive and could possibly become Pestilence again, The Riders come for him, triggering the return of his memories. With the knowledge of the horror he caused as Pestilence, Reseph goes a bit batty with guilt and remorse. I think Ione does a good job showing how bad Reseph feels about what Pestilence did. He doesn’t expect anyone to forgive him – and they don’t, at least not right away. Ione really makes Reseph work for his redemption. So why didn’t I love this book? Though all of the right elements were there – hot romance, characters I like, and action packed drama, I still felt there was something missing. The story was predictable and there were no big surprises. Even Reseph’s “fight” with Pestilence was anti-climactic. And my favorite part of the story, Jillian and Reseph’s romance, got a little lost in the second half of the book. While I enjoyed this book and thought it was a good read, it wasn’t my favorite of the series. I do enjoy Ione’s writing though and it’s always fun to jump back into this world. I was happy to see some of my favorite characters again. And wow – what is going on with Reaver and Harvester? I am dying to know! I am so glad that the next book will focus on them.*I received this book free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This, in no way, affected my opinion or review of this book.

    Great Story of Redemption

    Contains Spoilers!

I really enjoyed this but wished that the battle between Reseph and Pestilence was a more prevalent throughout the book. Pestilence was strong and evil but he did not put up much a fight. Also the slave bond explanation was a bit odd and could have used a stronger story. However, Ms. Ione's a talented writer!

4.5 stars. I really wasn't sure how she was going to pull this one off and redeem Reseph but she started out with a bang having him naked in the snow for Jillian to find! With the secrets revealed I am now even more excited to read Reaver's story!

    Rogue Rider
    4 Stars

Slow to start but picks up at the halfway point.

With the End of Days plot resolved in the previous book, the story focuses more on Jillian and Reseph’s romance, which reads like a contemporary romance until the moment Reseph remembers his past and the supernatural elements come to the fore.

Reseph is the epitome of the tortured hero and the manner in which he deals with his memories is intense and realistic. It is a testament to Ione’s skill as a writer that she manages to redeem a character as evil as Pestilence and enables the reader to sympathize with Reseph to such an extent.

Jillian has had a tough time of it with her unfortunate taste in men and with the demon attack that drove her into seclusion. The fact that she is able to open herself up enough to love and trust Reseph makes her all the more endearing. She and Reseph are sweet together and their emotional connection takes time to build unlike the couples in the previous installments who seemed to fall in lust at first site.

There are some interesting revelations throughout the book such as the identity of the Horsemen’s father although I had already guessed this little tidbit. The relationship between Reaver and Harvester, which has been developing over the series, also gains momentum and I am eager to find out what happens with them.

Another AWESOME book! Oh. My . God! I can't believe how incredibly freaking good this series turned out to be and this book was just the icing on a already pretty perfect cake after Lethal Rider. It was great to see how everyone reacted when they found out that Reseph was not only alive, but in love with someone for the first time. Heartbreaking to see Reseph strugling to accept everything that he had done as Pestilence and to bear through his family rejection. Jillian was pretty great with him and the situation she found herself in, which made for a kickass heroine. Incredible!

As far as stories about "four horseman of hell" would go, I particularly inhale this series. Prior to this book, an unfortunate incident causes Reseph to become overwhelm by his demonic side, Pestilence, who are the epitome of evil. He launch a substatial demonic apocalypse around the world down to murder rape and destruction where ever he goes including his major campaign to break his brothers and sister's apocalypse seal.

In the previous book, Pestilence was resealed again in Reseph but now his memory as Reseph and Pestilence was blocked and he was left in the middle of nowhere only to be found by a young woman who was living in a secluded forest away from the civilization (where the apocalypse hit the worst). Jillian came close to lose her life after a demon attack that left her traumatized but finding a naked guy in the snow is not what she had in mind.

Interesting enough, I kept reminiscing season 5 and 6 Supernatural while reading this. Instead of the whole bromance happening, we get Jillian trying to rehab a broken guy who had to come to term to what he had done as Pestilence and his family hating him.

I am satisfied by this book and I'm glad that I had waited this long to read Reseph's story. The subsequent storyline was a pleasant surprise at the end. As a PNR/UF book, I think Miss Ione had done great with her Deliverance series than her demonica series.

Although it does carry some vibes from other UF/PNR book, I do find myself enjoying the Horsemans' books. A bit simple and rather unoriginal storyline similar to other amnesiac character romance, but it is still enjoyable rather than some other PNR trying hard to fit in the genre.

But hey, its Reseph's story. Everything is forgivable.

Really enjoyed this installment and I liked how Larissa Ione managed to redeem Reseph's character. But overall I really enjoyed the romance between Reseph and Jillian, which was pretty fun and sexy!

This was a great addition and somewhat of a wrap up though Reaver's story is definitely set up.

Out of the 4 books, I probably liked this the least because it was more a sedate story wrapping up all the 4 books and then a slow burn romance. A lot of the twisted of the story, I saw coming. One of the twisted, I've been waiting for since book 2.

I really liked Reseph and loved his character and his changes, each step of the way. He reminds me of Wraith in his uninhibited comments except Reseph's are almost all sexual and more friendly/playful. Jillian seems strong and is portrayed that way.

I want to review this book while unaware as to what guys and girls of my age - or younger - think of it. During most of the book I imagined myself giving Rogue Rider 4 stars. I'm now giving it a perfect score. Oddly, it's not because the final chapters improved. It's because seen in its entirety, the book is a seamless triumph in storytelling. The story is massive in scope. I'm not talking about the stakes in the story. I'm referring to the epicness, the sprawling narrative, backed by a cast of what seem like thousands. Despite that, there is little confusion about who is who here. The relevant information is fed discreetly. Sometimes it is repeated in a much later paragraph, without being obvious. The vocabulary is without pretense, but is still rich. The transition from the best bits is smooth. There is always a threat of things occurring. There's never a moment of respite. The characters. Well I haven't read the three previous books in this series. Both main characters here appeared in previous tomes. Jillian is a normal girl. Reseph is an immortal, angelic demon. Not surprisingly, he's the one most difficult to bond with. As a straight guy, I felt a cautious acceptance only, for Reseph. He's physically like a perfect version of a Scandinavian god. One sentence summed up how special Reseph was. I mean the description of his eyelashes. That and how women would kill to have hair like his. Furthermore, Reseph shared his body with an evil alter ego. I'm far from seeped in Biblical lore. Which is why I cannot confirm how much liberty the writer took regarding the horseman's abilities and looks. The four horsemen live on earth but they took care to make their home like heaven. Except for our hero, all three horsemen of the apocalypse are married. I'm hazy here, but it seems all are married to humans. The humans may, I think, be immortal as a result. The author mirrors what we'd have liked in an ideal world. She is good. She makes Jillian, a normal girl with many physical and mental scars, the consort of the half angelic and half demonic hero. Oh, and hell is called Sheoul. How can one not like this book?

I read this book as part of the Christmas version of the Vet vs Newbies challenge at Gotta Have Paranormal Romance with a Kick. This book was one of my three available options and I’m so glad I chose to read it as I have discovered another great series to get addicted to. The book itself is the fourth installment and the only one I have read from both the series and this author. The story works perfectly as a standalone even though is sequel in an ongoing series.

The characters are intriguing, the world itself is complex enough that sucks you in. I really enjoyed the story and I want as well as the romance between the main characters. You fall in love with Reseph as the plot develops and you get to feel the anguish that Jillian experiences in her journey. I loved the book; I will definitively be looking to get my hands of the rest of the books. After all, who wouldn’t be interested in the tale of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse?

I am so happy this is not the end of the Lords of Deliverance series! This is one of those wonderful paranormal romance series that just grabs you with the fascinating characters and the compelling plots. Rouge Ride is not my favorite of the Lords of Deliverance series but is comes in as a close second. This book starts off almost as a small town story with a bit of paranormal thrown in. Jillian Cardiff lives by herself in a very remote farm. About a year ago she was savagely attacked and almost killed by demons. Now on her way home in the snow she comes across an unconscious man who is naked. When he finally wakes up he only remembers his name, Reseph. He doesn’t get his memory back until his family shows up. By then he and Jillian have feelings for each other but will she be able to love him once she finds out that he was behind her attack?Oh yeah, this is one of those books that won’t let you go even after you are finished reading. This is a wonderful story about love and forgiveness. The characters are intriguing and the plot moves so nicely in this unique world that Ms. Ione has created. I am so looking forward to the next installment.

Her writing is filled with such description that there is never an instant in the book where the reader loses sight of what is actually occurring. You’re drawn in, wrapped in the story, and engulfed in the drama. And you love every minute of it.I was hesitant at first, considering how Ms. Ione was going to bring credibility back to Reseph. However, within the first chapter I found I loved the idea and how she went about doing it. The entire book was gripping and held nonstop action and tension. The building of such beautiful characters gives the reader insight into exactly who Reseph is. He fully redeems himself and Jillian is a woman anyone would love to have on their side. She fights for everyone, and not only in a physical sense, and she fights for those who think they are weak, showing the strength anyone has inside.I loved how Ms. Ione gave us an update on the other characters as well as closure on some. The entire story took me all of four hours to read and it was a piece I had a hard time putting down. Gripping, magnificent, and predicted for success are all words I’d use when describing this book.Using a favorite word of Ms. Ione, five out of five stars for a fucking great read!
