About this audiobook
How can one book lead to such dramatically different conclusions? New York Times bestselling author Robert Spencer reveals the truth in The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran: not many Westerners know what's in the Koran because few have actually read it-even among the legions of politicians, diplomats, analysts, and editorial writers who vehemently insist that the Koran preaches tolerance.
Now Spencer unveils the mysteries lying behind this powerful book, guiding listeners through the controversies surrounding the Koran's origins and its most contentious passages. Stripping out the obsolete debates, Spencer focuses on the Koran's decrees toward Jews, Christians, and other infidels, explaining how they were viewed in Muhammad's time, what they've supposedly done wrong, and, most important, what the Koran has in store for them.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I was disappointed in this book. Whether it’s true or not hardly seems to matter; I was still disappointed.Spencer hopes to introduce casual readers to the words of the Koran, and he has nothing good to say about it. He compares it to Mein Kampf. Here are some of the chapter titles:The Muslims’ Worst Enemies: The Koran on the JewsThe Koran on Christians: They’re Not So Hot, EitherThe Koran on Women: Crooked and InferiorThe Koran Teaches Nonviolence—Oh, and Violence, TooHere’s the bottom line: If you want to know what’s in the Holy Book of Islam, read Spencer. If you want to know what Muslims believe, read Karen Armstrong. Islam is a religion of peace, which—like Christianity—attracts a few extremists. Like Christianity, its holy texts are in places downright abominable. Like Christians, practicing believers generally learn to ignore or spiritualize the ungodly portions of their scriptures.Spencer says about his work, “You will find nothing in this book about Islamic ritual practices or prayers. This is an Infidel’s guide, focusing on where the Koran came from and its specific portions that are—or should be—of concern to Infidels.” It is, by Spencer’s admission, one-sided, and not reflective of general Muslim practices.Tomorrow, I’ll balance this with a discussion of the Texts of Terror within the Bible, so we can realize how much Christians ignore in their holy book. It might help put things in perspective.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5“Complete guide” not really. It only focuses on the negative bits and nothing else. There’s no balance in this at all it’s very biased and pushes a narrative. I wouldn’t recommend

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I was hoping for an actual introduction to the Koran but instead I got a thinly disguised diatribe against Islam.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Scholarly summary of what comprises Islam's revered Koran. Well-written, easy-to-read, interesting account of this syncretic political belief system that purports to be a revealed religious faith. The book is written with bravado and humor. But, also from a point-of-view that the West is under siege. This of course is a debatable point. What the reader cannot help but understand is that Mohammedanism was cobbled together from Judaism and Christianity. As well, Traditional Western readers have here a clear description of fundamental differences between European and Asian / Middle Eastern Civilizations. An instructive book that should I think be recommended reading throughout the English-speaking world.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Much needed information for anyone who wanted an understanding of what the Quran and Islam is about, rather than what the Western media portrays Islam to be.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very well written and researched book that teaches the often ignored doctrines of hatred and intolerance towards all other religions, as well as the commandments given to its followers to confront, fight and subdue the other faiths until there is no religion left in the world but Islam. It is not written to please its adherents or to be politically correct but to tell the truth about its tenets and ambitions of world conquest and domination. This book should be read by everyone but especially by politicians and government officials in the West to better protect their citizens from this existential threat that shows us more and more of its true fanatical nature every year through the ruthless murder of civilians and their disdain for our laws and way of life.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Bigoted trash by a hack that has no place on Scribd. Can you imagine how loudly this same rat would be crying if there were a book like this against Jews? Why does Scribd find it okay to host anti-Muslim hate speech?
