About this audiobook

Life is rewarding for Samuel Truelove. He's a gifted surgeon, he's married to the love of his life, and he has a beautiful daughter. But when he's called to perform an emergency surgery, a deadly cascade of events is set in motion, and his picture-perfect life begins to unravel.

Annie Truelove, hoping to escape painful reminders of her grief, leaves her beloved home in the mountains of North Carolina and begins a new life in faraway Seattle. But a disturbing headline takes her back home, where memories of both joy and sorrow come flooding back. What will it take to heal two broken hearts?

It took a bit to get into the book and connect the dots of where the author was going, but it was worth the time to hang in there. Beautiful story and a great expression of how our lives are woven together.

Trying to broaden my horizons, I gave this Christian romance a chance. It seemed a little too predictable. When their daughter dies, Sam and Annie's marriage falls apart. She moves away and a lawsuit against him finds him away from his practice as a pediatric cardiac surgeon. Many events happen which eventually give them a second chance. This book was a change of pace for me. I would not object to trying another of this genre at another time.

Samuel Trurlove was a gifted heart surgeon, had married the love of his life, and had a beautiful daughter. Tragedy happened and his picture-perfect life began to unravel. Annie leaves her home in NC an travels to San Francisco to begin a new life of her own. She wants to shake off the past but a disturbing headline interrupts her plans and takes her back home. While there memories of former things, ofjoy and sorrow, come flooding back. Can these two very broken people allow their hearts to heal? Their journey to a "new place" is difficult. I enjoyed that journey, came to admire of them, and watched forgiveness and healing take place. I recommend this book highly.
