Author

Evelyn Waugh

I did not care for a single story in this entire collection. It came off as trite, uninteresting, and lacking in form, structure, characterization, and plot. I do not recommend this at all.1 star.

Wonderfully evocative and well constructed short stories - also includes some works which are connected to his novels rather than being short stories in their own right. Some of the stories are extremely bleak in terms of the human condition.
