About this audiobook

"Don't be fooled by the title of this seriocomic ode to success; it's not 'Climb Every Mountain,' kid version. All journeys face perils, whether from indecision, from loneliness, or worst of all, from too much waiting. Seuss' familiar pajama-clad hero is up to the challenge, and his odyssey is captured vividly in busy two-page spreads evoking both the good times (grinning purple elephants, floating golden castles) and the bad (deep blue wells of confusion). Seuss' message is simple but never sappy: life may be a 'Great Balancing Act,' but through it all 'There's fun to be done.'"

One of the valedictorians at my high school read this as their graduation speech. Such a perfect choice. I've long forgotten what the other's words of wisdom might have been, but I still remember this book as one that is fitting for someone of any age when they are at the start of a new path in life.

I have a deep sentimental attachment to this story. For my graduation a man who I deeply admired and looked to as a father, gave me this book to let me know that he had faith that despite the trials and tribulations in life, I would turn out great. I still cry every time I read this book.

I like Dr. Seuss, but I still opened this with a cynical snort after having read that this book is a popular graduation present. I can see why. It's so bloody hopeful. I was smiling by the last page and it's great for a book that appears to be for children to offer something even to the more curmudgeonly (or Grinchy even) amongst us. I loved this. I think my heart grew a few sizes, and not because of any kind of cardiovascular defect (always be specific on the internet).

I was first given this book when I was in elementary school and my family was about to make a big move from Louisiana to Maryland. It is a great book that tells us all, young and old, that we are capable of going wherever and being whoever we choose. And where ever you choose to go, there are adventures to be had. This is the kind of children's book that when you mention the title, adults will still say "Awww, I love that book!"

Oh, the Places You'll Go! is an amazing children's book for all ages. I have received this book many times throughout my school career. Not only is it an encouraging book for young children about how they can achieve anything they set their mind to, but it reminds you as you get older that all you have to do is keep trying. I received this book for my high school graduation and every time I see it sitting in my bedroom I sit down and reread it for motivation.

I love this book. To me this book epitomizes life. It is such a great message for anyone at any age. It talks about being happy and sad, winning and losing, being scared or being brave. I want to share this book with every class that I ever have because I think it is important to remember all of the things that Dr. Seuss has written in this book. This is one of my absolute favorites and I learn something new every time I read it. Even as an adult this book makes me think and dream and I think that is more than you can ask from any story!

Oh, The Places You'll Go is my favorite Dr. Seuss book. This book teaches that no matter what, people can do anything they set their mind to. This book isn't just for children but for people of all ages. It tells a bigger story that inspires the reader. The book is one that i suggest to a lot of people. The standard Dr. Seuss rhyming makes it an enjoyable book.

I think this is a lovely story. This would be a great book to give to students at the end of the school year, especially if I taught a grade that would be moving on to a new school building the following year (5th or 8th grade?). This book is a classic, heartwarming, but realistic story (in the sense that it not only says the future will be GREAT! but also that sometimes it won't be). A great story for anyone graduating from anything.

This is my favorite Dr. Seuss book, I love the message in it! Through out the book, he talks of the twists and turns of life, how you have to make decisions, live with those consequences, how you will have bad days, but then good days to make everything better. The pictures are creative and colorful like always, and overall this is a very motivational book!

This is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books. Though it is geared toward young readers, this can be read and enjoyed by adults too. It has the very relatable topic of new beginnings and trying new things that can be a good lesson for anyone.

This book is definitely one of my favorites Dr. Suess texts. I first read this book when it was given to me as a graduation gift. It was really inspirational. I think the message is universal and suits both children and adults. It's fitting for so many occasions where major life changes are happening. Dr. Suess does a really great job of turning poetry into a very useful and applicable life lesson.

Oh, the Places You'll Go is my second favorite book written by Dr. Seuss. It is very inspirational and has deep meaning to it. The awesome thing about this book is that it is a children's book. It rhymes, it has beautiful illustrations and young kids will pick up the meaning behind this book and hold onto it.

My favorite Dr. Suess book ever written! I think this book can be used for young children as well as adults. For example, I know multiple friends who received this book as a graduation present (high school and college). It's a fun way to teach children about dreams and rhyme and rhythm all at the same time! They quickly pick up on the rhythm of the book and the fun words that Dr. Suess always adds. I highly recommend this book to teachers and students of all ages- definitely a classic!

Media: WatercolorGenre: FantasyReview: This is a wonderful example of a fantasy book because the setting and events are made to be believable but in reality the places do not really exist. As the boy is trying to find his way in life he experiences a couple bumps and bruises but eventually ends up "moving mountains." This book is written in rhyme.

This is a great book for anyone to read though it is written for a child's understanding! The lesson of the book is that through your life you will face many obstacles, go many places, have bad & good times, realize that not everything is easy, learn that you win some and lose some, and it teaches many other things too. It inspires the reader to dream as big as you want because anything can be achieved if you set your mind to it. I absolutely loved this book, it is perfct for graduations or even reading it at the beginning of a new school year to allow your students to see that though this is a new, scary start- it will be fun and they will get through it having a great school year!

Oh, the Places You'll Go! is a children's book that expresses how much potential children, young adults, and adults have. Whether the child is going into kindergarten or their first year of college, this book shows all the abilities one has. Yes, challenges may arise, causing one to fail, but Dr. Seuss does a brilliant job of making these failures less scary by acknowledging that everyone fails. As a child, one has open-ended opportunities, and it just takes a little exploration to get in far as life as possible. I love how the book acknowledges that failure is okay because failure is commonly looked down upon, and children get scolded for failing. Failure and mistakes are the only ways to learn, and Dr. Seuss brilliantly captures these values.

Summary:Dr. Seuss uses wonderful words tot ell the reader to "Be careful deciding on where to go." The places in the book are exciting and readers wish to travel to those places too.Personal:I love this book. I have a well-worn copy of this from one of my long-time friends. She and I exchanged copies at graduation, where the world was at our fingertips.Classroom:1. I would have show and tell over the student's favorite places to visit. They would discuss what they did, and how it affected them.2. In a journal entry, I would have them describe their perfect place, whether it was real or not. They would describe what they could do, the sights that they saw, and why they picked this place.

This book of rhymes will take you on a journey of life. It talks about venturing out further and traveling and everything that you experience during that journey of happiness, to be alone, to getting yourself out of a rut back to making things happen, back to lonliness, and back to being on the go. I thought it could be very encouraging to anyone, not just children, but written on a level for children to understand that ups and downs are normal. My favorite part was that it not only talked about positive things in life, but also about how the bad times come and go, then come back again, but you have to make them go again, and it did not sugar coat it. It was clear that the bad times will be bad and its okay to stay there a while, but that you have to make yourself get out of that bad place so that you do not stay there forever. I thought that was a really good point for children to hear but also in a not so harsh way to hear it. Children can journal about where they want to travel, and also discuss how they will get themselves out of dark places. This may be a good introduction to get kids to journal about any dark places they are in at the present, and talk about how they feel and how they are handling their negative situations.

This classic Dr. Seuss book, one I actually read with a little girl I was tutoring yesterday, makes reading really fun. With the rhymes, great sayings and bright colors, the little girl was super excited when she read half of the page that was "hers" and then bopped her head back and forth to the rhythm of the words when I read my half.
