About this audiobook

A gentleman gambler wagers his luck and his heart in the second of the Hellions of Halstead Hall series from the New York Times bestselling "grand mistress of storytelling" (RT Book Reviews) and author of the Duke Dynasty books.

Mired in scandal after his parents' mysterious deaths, the notorious Lord Jarret Sharpe agrees to run the family brewery for a year if his Machiavellian grandmother rescinds her ultimatum that he marry or lose his inheritance. But the gambler in him can't resist when beguiling Annabel Lake proposes a wager: If she wins their card game, he must help save her family's foundering brewery. But if he wins, she must spend a night in his bed.

The outcome sets off a chain of events that threatens to destroy all of Jarret's plans and unveil the secret Annabel has held for so long. When Jarret discovers the darker reason behind her wager, he forces her into another one—and this time he intends to win not just her body, but also her heart.

With her trademark "engaging characters and delightfully delicious sensuality" (RT Book Reviews), Sabrina Jeffries weaves a steamy and unforgettable historical romance.

    Outstanding!!

This book had me laughing out loud at the clever and witty dialogue. The story was excellently written and the characters were dynamic and well portrayed.

Lord Jarret Sharpe is a devilishly handsome rogue who spends his time in gaming hells avoiding responsibility. When his sick grandmother puts him in charge of the family brewery, he wagers a business deal on a radical bet with a beautiful young brewster, Annabel Lake. Annabel has some secrets in her past. In order to secure the help of the charming lord to save her family, she risks not only her reputation, but her heart.

Each character in the story is cleverly portrayed from the ailing grandmother to Annabel's family. The writing is exceptional, the romance is steamy, and the adventure is so enthralling that it's hard to put the book down.

This is the 2nd of the Hellions series and just as magnificent as the first. It's a historical romance to get washed away in and one you'll want to read more than once!

I adored the first book in this series and couldn't for the next installment to come out. Unfortunately for me, I'm in the same boat again. I adored this novel and can't wait for the next to come out. If only Jeffries would write faster!

I loved Jarret and Annabel. His willingness to open himself to Annabel was wonderful, especially after he finds out her secret. She was strong and caring, and my heart broke for her after learning her secret. I completely understood why she kept it from Jarret.

A well thought out story of gambling ne'er do well second son, Jarret Sharpe, a marquess who takes over the running of his grandmother's brewery. He meets a brewster (a female brewer) who wants to partner with his grandmother's brewery to help save her own brewery from going under. Of course, she's pretty, plucky and red headed - and he can't resist her. There are complications for it turns out she has a son who is being raised as her brother's son. Overall, I really enjoyed this romance and liked the way it all came together with a sentimental and happy ending. Some sizzling love scenes as well. I recommend it!

Having been selected to recieve this book from the First Reads contest I must say the book arrived very quickly and I was able to start on it... as soon as I finished reading Book 1. So now, this is book 2 of the Hellions of Halstead Hall which follows the second sibling, Lord Jarret Sharpe. The Grandmother has put an ultimatum on the five siblings that they must all marry within one year or all of them will lose their inheritence. As far as a plot hitch, this one is very weak. You see the grandmother as this matriarch of the family that is trying to now rein in her grandchildren but to force them to marry? Well, it is a romance so... Anyway, to get away from the rights and wrong of the "problem", the story itself is an OK romance. Again as I said with her first book in this series there is not much drama in the plot. OK so yes they have to find their spouse and marry but that's it. In this book Jarret has been given the family brewery to bring back from the brink of, not doing so well? But all you hear about is the fact that the female lead in the book needs to try and say her families brewery.I gave it three stars because I did like the characters. The story is just a small romance with nothing really exciting going on at all, ever.

Lord Jarred's grandmother is forcing him and his siblings to marry or lose their inheritance. Since her health is failing, he persuades her to let him take over control of the family brewery for a year instead. Annabel, who has a secret in her past, convinces him to join forces to market ale from her recipe to the East India Company. When they wager on the outcome--partnership or her virtue--sparks fly.A very sexy romance.

Not as memorable as some of Jeffries' earlier books but an interesting story. I enjoyed the main characters and liked the depth of the secondary characters as well.

Sabrina Jefferies always manages to keep me glued to her books and A Hellion in Her Bed was no different. The chemistry between Jarret and Annable was great and the banter between all the characters at times had me laughing. I learned more about beer brewing from this book than I thought was possible but the way it was written into the story only made it better. I love how her characters have depth to them. You understand why they are the way they are from thier pasts. You see them grow through out the book and you want the best for them. I will always be a loyal Sabrina Jefferies fan and the rest of this series will be in my library.
