One star for Ms. Sands' story, because if you're writing erotica, you shouldn't have your main character constantly refer to his penis as "Little Teddy" and because "lave" is never a sexy word.

Three stars for Ms. Frost's story, for being by turns, exciting, scary, sexy, heart-breaking, heart-warming and funny.

I bought this book in my quest to read all the Night Huntress novellas. I absolutely loved the Cat and Bones story "Home for the Holidays." I loved seeing Ian get a chance to shine. Maybe Frost will give Ian a love and story in the Night Huntress World novels. That'd be fun. I am never disappointed with a Jeaniene Frost outing and this short story was no exception. It was worth the price of the book alone just for this novella.

As for the Lynsay Sands story, "The Gift," it was just okay. The story was cute and humorous and very romantic but there wasn't any tension in it or any mystery for the couple to solve. It was just a little falling in love story and that fall happened instantly.

    Fun Read!

I love it when I find a book with lots of action, romance, and humor. Good friendship and loyalty only make it better.

In the first book, Teddy, the police chief of Port Henry finds his lifemate. What a wonderful Christmas present.

In the second book Cat and Bones's closest friends gather to surprise Bones for his birthday. Only to have one of his presents backfire on him.

Book books were captivating and the narration superb. I highly recommend this book and its original series.

Enjoyable, little tales in the Argeneau and Night Huntress series. Pleasant little reads...

Jeanine Frost's story was a treat- Bones find himself sweep away with a possible real family member. Not everything is as it seems, something is changing. Bones is changing.
Lynsay Sands- predictable PNR, cheesy, love fest. To be fair I am not a fan of this style of writing.

This book is actually two short stories under one cover. I was mainly wanting to read the Lynsay Sands story; however, I ended up liking both of the stories. Four stars from me for both stories.I have been working on reading the Argeneua series in order but I wanted to read a holiday story so I skipped ahead to this book. It is not necessary to read the series in order because Sands gives you enough information to know what is going on with the characters. Though be warned some names are mentioned that you will not understand if you have not read the previous books. In short I thought this was a great addition to the series and I loved the holiday theme. I have not read anything else by Frost other than the story contained in this book; therefore, I cannot comment on how this story fits with the rest. I did enjoy this one and plan on reading more by her.

I have had this book to read for while and thought this would be the perfect book to read over the holiday season. This book contains two very cute holiday novellas. The Argeneau vampires novella was cute and sexy and hopeful; a perfect Christmas story. The Night Huntress novel was a bit more bloody and vicious but I enjoyed it as well. The first novella is called The Gift and is a novel in the Argeanau vampire series. In this novella when Teddy, a small town cop, gets stranded in a cabin in the woods he encounters the young and beautiful Katricia Argeneau. As they work to survive in the woods without power the two develop a sweet and steamy relationship and discover that both their dreams may have been answered. The second novella is called Home for the Holidays, this is a Night Huntress novella. Cat and Bones are looking forward to a quiet holiday at home with their friends. That is until Bones’ long last brother shows up and puts Bones and many of his friends under a spell of sorts. Cat is unaffected and is left to figure out how to mitigate this disaster and break the spell. While not quite as sweet and funny as The Gift; this novella was action packed and entertaining. This was a fun read for the Christmas season. I would recommend if you are fans of either of those paranormal series. I have never read an Argeneau novel before (although I have the first couple in the series sitting on my bookshelf) but this little novella really peaked my interest in that series again.Even if you aren’t a current reader of either of these series both of these novellas are good samples of the type of story and writing each series is comprised of. So in addition to be a cute and fun holiday read for series fans, this is also a nice sample of the kinds of stories these two authors write. I have already read all of the Night Huntress novels and this Argeneau novella has definitely peaked my interest in that series and made me eager to pick it up.

The Gift by Lynsay Sands: Teddy Brunswick knows about immortals, he works with some vampires and knows something about them. He doesn't know Katricia Argeneau. Both of them are staying in isolated cottages and have to help each other deal with the isolation and the fact that she's running rapidly out of her blood supplies, can he cope, is he willing to love her. Fairly predictable but I enjoyed it.Home for the Holidays by Jeaniene Frost is a story of possession and family and finding family with friends. I haven't been following this series so I was occasionally lost but it was overall enjoyable.Light reads, I enjoyed them.

I read the Lynsay Sands short a while back but remember liking it but didn't love it. It was the story of Sheriff Teddy Brunswick. If you don't remember, he is the friend of Elvi from The Accidental Vampire, one of my favorite Argeneau books. I think I would have given this story, Teddy's, a 4 star but the next short bumped it up.

So the next story is in this book is a Night Huntress story, which comes after book 6 in the Night Huntress series and book 8 in the Night Huntress World. I suggest you read them in order of the N.H. World as they go hand in hand and have spoilers and necessary information from one to the other. This short is essential in the series, and not a read alone novella like the other novellas in the series. So far there have been 5, and none have been necessary to the story line, except perhaps the first one. This one is very necessary.

A lot happens in this story and it is longer than the first novella in the book. You find out a lot about the backgrounds of Anette, Bones, and Ian. Ian plays a big part in this book, so if you are a Ian lover, get it read. I really cannot say much, as anything I say, would be spoilers. I really like this one and am glad I finally got to it.

I've read all Lynsay Sands books and this story about police chief Teddy getting stuck in snowstorm with Tricia was fun but the plot was nothing special. I've only read the first Cat & Bones book by Jeaniene Frost and this was an interesting vampire story about a family member showing up during the holidays but not enough romance.

Vampire romance. Vampire smut. some mentions of Christmas. Guilty pleasure, surprisingly fun.

First I need to say that if you a fan of Jeniene Frost you MUST read "Home for the Holidays"!!!! Not only is it awesome because it's a Cat and Bones short, everyone's there, and you learn about Bones' parentage and family ties!

If you're like me and haven't gotten to the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands yet, there this is a good short to entice you into reading the series.
