About this audiobook

They were strangers.

A handful of people. From different backgrounds, living in different towns and cities across America, they had nothing in common-except fear.

They were victims.

Cold and stark, an unknown terror gripped their dreams and turned their days into living nightmares.

They were chosen.

And they could not escape. Deep in the heart of a sprawling desert, a dark memory called out to them drawing them to the Tranquility Motel-where the terrifying truth was waiting….

Dated with so many characters; but if you focus on the tale, it is a wonderful, rich, enjoyable telling.

Can't recommend this one......unless you want to read a book that is 300 pages TOO long.
    Sorry.

As with all of Dean Koontz books there is a desire to read or listen without putting them down. They draw you in and keep you enthralled and this one is no different.

This is like a mini series, long but full of rich and exciting characters. The narrator has enough voices to play the various characters well.

As usual Dean Koontz does not disappoint. Some of it I had figured out, but a little twist changed to a delightful ending different from what I expected.

This book, unlike the typical Dean Koontz style we know today, was without horror but nevertheless full of page turning tension. Wonderfully crafted characters and a great storyline showing depths of the author’s thoughtfulness and insight. It should be far better known, and hardly feels outdated.

As is character for Mr. Koontz, he elaborates eloquently, yet not exhaustively as Im used to.

The narrator was SUPERB! I will find other books he read as he's the first narrator that matches my fantastical imagination with his reading.

I will edit this review when I finish the book, as I'm only at Chapter 38

This book follows me through my home speakers as I do chores, and keeps me company for the one-time hour drive to and from work every day.

I'm obsessed. Dean is keeping me on my toes, trying to figure out the end game.

I liked the book and the narrator but it was way too drawn out! Use 20 words when 5 will work!! ;)
