About this audiobook

One beautiful, breezy day Brianna Daniel's hot air balloon joyride turns into "gone with the wind", as she is somehow blown back to the year 1860. Bumping along the road to the Split Rock pony express station as a mail-order bride to Lucas Daniels, Brianna realizes that she has exchanged lives with her great-grandmother Anna. The thoroughly modern Brianna is hardly the docile bride that Lucas, her groom-to-be, had in mind. In fact, they dislike each other instantly. But beneath that fiery conflict sizzles something even more intense and impossible to ignore. As this century meets the last, two unlikely lovers unite in a flame of desire that will endure through the ages.

A little slow at first but I really enjoyed the glimpse in the pre civil war era.

I loved this and all of Carolyn Lampan’s books! I’m only sorry there aren’t any more, as I’ve read them all. Very heartfelt love story. Characters are so real to the reader.

This was a great read! I really love time travel - and this was a new twist on time travel that I had not seen before. I liked it so much that I re read it - which is rare for me - and loved the little hints early in the book that I missed the first time. I didn’t want it to end!

Fair - could have been better. When Brianna goes for a balloon ride…zap! She's back in 1860 and a mail order bride to a Pony Express station master, who didn't send for her. And her great-great-grandmother is zapped to the future in her place. Most of the book centers around Brianna, trying to figure out life on the prairie. Of course, things work out. She starts a lunch counter for the stages coming through, of course figures out how to cook without all the ingredients over a fireplace, and soon has the station master falling in love with her. But just one problem, he's her great-great-grandfather, isn't he? Now what!
