About this audiobook

[Human After All was previously released under the titles, Xom-B, Uprising, and Freeman. The author’s preferred title is Human After All.]

Freeman is a genius with an uncommon mixture of memory, intelligence and creativity. He lives in a worldwide utopia, but it was not always so. There was a time known as the Grind—when Freeman’s people lived as slaves to another race referred to simply as “Master.” They were property. But a civil rights movement emerged. Change seemed near, but the Masters refused to bend. Instead, they declared war.

And lost.

Now, the freed world is threatened by a virus, spread through bites, sweeping through the population. Those infected are propelled to violence, driven to disperse the virus. Uniquely suited to respond to this new threat, Freeman searches for a cure, but instead finds the source—the Masters, intent on reclaiming the world. Freeman must fight for his life, for his friends and for the truth, which is far more complex and dangerous than he ever imagined.

Robinson’s lightning fast, cutting-edge novels have won over thriller, horror, science-fiction and action/adventure fans alike, and he has received high praise from peers like James Rollins, Jonathan Maberry, and Scott Sigler. Human After All is a wildly inventive zombie novel with a high-tech twist that will keep readers guessing until the very last sentence.

Wonderful book. Really surprised me. An original and uplifting one-shot that is way more than a zombie thriller.

This was such a unique and refreshing zombie story. Unpredictable, imaginative, twisted and unlike any other zombie story I've ever heard. Of course, RC Bray slays as usual.

A fantastical piece of sci-fi with an occasionally clumsy plot. Still a fun read.

Slow to start, but well worth the read. Good story line with quite a few unforeseen twists. Narration was great considering all was done by the same fella.

Nice change of pace - zombie story without the bog-standard zombies, or main characters, or useless women (well, there are no women here, but still, none are better than herded-for-reproduction or perma-rape story lines)...So. Thanks for that Mr. Robinson. You have no idea how tiresome it is to read the "woman = rape" theme in practically every zombie book I pick up.

If you like sci-fi and post-apocalypse books, or even books about zombies, robots, innocence, love, hope with some awesome fight scenes and thought provoking ideas, then this book should be added to your must read list. Robinson found the perfect way to blend them all seamlessly together in a great book for our time. This book has re-written some old ideas into a new, fresh and intense thrill ride for all ages. I hope you check this book out, I truly don't think you will be disappointed. I received this book as an Advance Reading Copy and had to read it twice, it was so good. Plan to purchase it in hardcover soon.

The overall idea of the story is interesting, fairly original and, more importantly, makes sense. The rest is non-stop action without much else. Perfect for video game.

Listened for Review (Brilliance)Overall Rating: 4.50Story Rating: 4.50Character Rating: 4.50Audio Rating: 3.50 (not part of the overall rating)First Thought when Finished: Xom-B by Jeremy Robinson was a very interesting twist on the traditional Zombie story. I enjoyed it from beginning to end!Story Thoughts: OMG! Seriously I was caught off guard by how much I enjoyed Xom-B (especially since I decided to give it a whirl because it seemed odd BUT I was prepared to be underwhelmed). It was odd, unique, fascinating, and clearly one of kind. This is a different twist on the zombie stories that we are used to hearing. It is also a story about humanity even though again in an odd and compelling way. This really was just a brilliant act of storytelling. The only little bit knocked off was that it was a little hard to grasp in the beginning but once the story hit it's stride, it was hard to put down!Character Thoughts: I loved Freeman. He made a great lead to experience this world through. He was new to everything too and in that essence we got to experience everything through his eyes, emotions, and thoughts. The other characters were fantastic also! Both the good guys and bad guys were engaging. I began to care for them all!Audio Thoughts: Narrated by: R. C. Bray /Length: 11 hrs and 31 minsI don't think I have listened to a book narrated by R. C. Bray before but I thought he did a pretty good job. He was right on with Freeman's voice and growth throughout the story. I wasn't so much a fan for his female voices but they did grow on me through the story. Overall I would listen to a story narrated by him again!Final Thought: Very Impressed!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading XOM-B, and in my opinion, is Robinson’s best book to date. There was action right from the beginning, and as it was written in first person, I felt like I was transformed into the story as the main character, sharing his thoughts and having the same nagging questions as he did. That outlook on the story caused the character development to naturally flow as I continued to read. I found myself plowing through the story just to learn more about the main character’s situation and try to find the answers to his questions. Robinson has written some fantastic novels in the past, but the bar has been raised with XOM-B.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book - robots, zombies and great writing what more does a person need from a book? So much so, that as soon as it arrived and I was greeted with the choice of reading or sleep, I chose to read and I definitely don't regret that decision. As always, Jeremy Robinson has written excellent characters that you love or/ and hate in equal measure. I thought Xom-B was fantastic, it incorporates lots of thoughts on what it is to be human, with nasty enemies and a  few surprises. I'm waiting for the announcement that its going to be a movie because this is the sort of book that is crying out to be made. We as an audience need it.

XOM-B Jeremy Robinson has done it again. You think you know Zombies? Are you a fan of everything The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead – Zombies. Well take everything you think you know about them and throw it out the window. I love everything Zombie and didn’t think I could really be shown anything new. How wrong I was! How about adding in some Robots? What? Robots and Zombies! Yeah figure that one out! Jeremy has come up with a flash bang of a story line.I could not put this book down! I read until the wee hours of the morning then only slept for a couple of hours because I just had to know what was going to happen to Freeman and Luscious! Where would they end up next? I loved Luscious’s character! Watching her overcome her internal wiring to become the woman she thought she wanted to be was inspired. As her feelings for Freeman grow so too does her wonder at Freeman and more importantly herself and what she is becoming.Just when you think you have this book figured out – BAM! Something to make you second guess what you thought was going on. Jeremy is a master at twist, twist, twisting the plot of a novel. This book is a great read and I am going to be telling all my friends they need to go get it!

XOM-B by Jeremy Robinson was definitely a different take on the whole viral outbreak and zombie apocalypse theme in a very good and interesting way! From the moment I started the book I felt invested in the survival of Freeman, rooting him on and holding my breath when he was in trouble. XOM-B brings us to what could very well be our future thanks to the advancements in technology, but will we learn from their mistakes? Probably not. An excellent, hard to put down read!
