About this audiobook
The psychopath carefully selects the most indifferent and heartbreaking way imaginable to abandon you. They destroy you as a way to reassure themselves that their new target is better. But most importantly, they destroy you because they hate you. They despise your empathy and love, and to destroy you is to temporarily silence the nagging reminder of the emptiness that consumes their soul. Unbeknownst to both of you, this is the beginning of a great adventure...
Psychopath Free operates under the assumption that you are not defined by your pain, but instead by the subsequent choices you make along the way. The goal is to make the process a bit more holistic, to provide all the tools you'll need to find validation, self-respect, peace, and love. Psychopath Free will help you out of the darkness so that you can begin making better choices that will forever alter the course of your life.
So say farewell to love triangles, cryptic letters, self-doubt, and manufactured anxiety. You are no longer a pawn in the mind games of a psychopath. You are free.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5MacKenzie's work differs dramatically from many current pop-psychology articles and books on the topic, in that at no point is the psychopath/abuser painted as a victim, and absolutely no excuses are offered for the psychopath's behavior.
Much praise for Jackson MacKenzie's Psychopath Free (Expanded Edition). Exceptionally written, this masterpiece offers real hope, in the immediate and long-term, to anyone caught in an emotionally abusive relationship.
With uncommon insight and compassion for those suffering, MacKenzie writes in detail on 30 of the most telling behaviors of a psychopath; paths to freedom for the abused; what to expect after the relationship has ended; the recovery process; numerous resources and methods of support; and, most importantly, detailed answers to why a psychopath bothers to convince you that you make him or her deliriously happy, only to reject or discard you, often, literally overnight. If you have been trying to apply logic to make sense of what went wrong with, what at-first seemed, the love of your life, this book provides plain-English answers.
If you were or are still in a relationship with a suspected Narcissist, Sociopath, or Other Toxic Person, you owe it to yourself to give this treasure a read! You will find yourself returning to it again and again as a reference.2 people found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5They chose the perfect narrator for this book. This was the blunt wake up call and pat on my back I needed.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Highly recommend for anyone who’s gone through emotional abuse of any kind ??????
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I can tell you this if a psychopath or sociopath or narcissist feels pain then they are not that. I think I am dealing with a female that is on this level. She is lieing to get a protective order against me to break up. She used that option instead of saying goodbye knowing I would go through different stages of grief. She has no feeling at all. She thinks I was hurting her on purpose she claims because I still love my children's mother childhood sweetheart. Because of our relationship she had a brain hemorrhage and almost died. I am engulfed with guilt because of this. She acted like she actually cared about her also it made me love her even more. I stood by her for 2 yrs while she had nothing and built herself up. After I had a horrible year with covid etc it was very hard to climb out of hole. She wouldn't help me one bit she just abused me mentally and even hit me at times. Then she just tells me get out cuts all communication off tells everyone I beat her and will not even look me in the eyes. She has to be a pure killer a psychopath to do this to me in my most darkest hour. I wanna hate u for this and yet I still love u. Why wtf is wrong with me for loving someone who dosent feel anything and just bounces from guy to guy. She should be locked away in hell where she belongs. But she will just keep on doing this to men.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you are lucky enough to run across this book in the beginning of your healing journey, your chances of understanding, healing and truly surviving narcissistic abuse will be much more likely! If it’s been years and you read this book, you will be validated beyond measure! The best book I have ever read in regards to healing and surviving & understanding emotional abuse!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another excellent education about cluster personality disorders. Very scary. Very helpful to those of us recovering from such an encounter.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a must read for everyone who is hurting. The answers to so many questions I have asked myself over the last 33 years.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5WOW. Must must listen too, it was like listening to my life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Please please read/listen to this if you feel lost after a relationship or if you have so many unanswered questions.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Read this in one sitting! A must read. This book helped me understand the narcissistic ways of my ex. Enlightening and empowering.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great introspection! Has really helped me become more self aware.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am finding myself a victim of abuse by a one such “character “ who has almost destroyed my life as well as my children’s lives. Being raised by a psychopath, it was familiar even though it felt bad somehow. It seems these “soulless vampires” can smell you from a mile away. Thank you for writing this book. It will help me convince my daughter she’s being manipulated by one as well. I can’t thank you enough...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book has been a Godsend! It would be perfect if everyone would read this, especially those that haven't been through this just so they know the red flafs and can spot a narcissist and somekne being abused. Society plays a LARGE role in victims being stuck in abuse since they side with a narcissist time and time again because they only see the mask and not the real person. Society becomes the fly monkey and aids in the abuse...its gross in my opinion. If they educate themselves then they can help and even prevent further abuse. From personal experience, as a victim, I resented society and the flying monkeys more than the narcissist. Education is key and just because YOU haven't been through it doesn't mean you aren't being manipulated and used by the narcissist.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I feel it has saved my soul and gave my life hope again.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great read! I think of it as a light in the darkness.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5for anyone who has ever been in an emotionally abusive relationship or even a relationship that just destroyed you to some extent, emotionally/physically/sexually - THIS is the book to read. As a long time searcher for the right self help book to explain and encapsulate my trauma; this pinpoints my trauma exactly and relates it to how this affects your view of self and the world to such incredible detail that everything just fucking makes sense. Lastly, I highly recommend reading Whole Again by the same author after to figure out how to cope with all the knowledge you’ll gain from this book. Everything is pinpoint accurate - just minus the last chapter which blames people with personality disorders being related to psychopathy. Personality disorders are mental illnesses which are diseases and not the cause of psychopathy and are people to be afraid of and viewed as monsters. There are good people with these disorders and they are treatable. Hated that section and disagreed with all of it but besides that great book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book made me realise that I’m an INFJ, which are often attracted to psychopaths. After learning their patterns , it helps me recognise them easily by their specific behaviours
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Please, if you ending with a broken heart just listen this book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the book. If you’re looking for a book to help you sort out what you’ve been through and what to do, this is absolutely the most helpful, informative, and constructive book I’ve found. I reread this one whenever I need to get back on track. This is the book that helped me get my feet back on solid ground.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A MUST read if you question any relationship, whether it be a family member, coworker, a friend or a significant other! If you question what is going on that you can't simply understand. If you feel as though your are being portrayed as crazy. If you simply feel something is off. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It is an eye opener in all aspects! But be careful when you read it because you will be confronted with a sad truth that you might have never been loved at all, therefore try to do some much needed emotional prep to be able to comprehend you were set up for failure since the beginning in your relationship.
