About this audiobook
Buckle up—the Argeneaus are back in a sexy, witty new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands
Dante Notte has heard it said that love hurts. He just wasn't expecting it to run him over in an RV. Still, a punctured lung and broken ribs are nothing compared to the full-body shock he feels whenever he's near the vehicle's driver, Mary Winslow. He needs to keep her safe from their pursuers while he rescues his brother. Most challenging of all, he needs to claim this smart, stubborn woman as his life mate.
The naked, injured, insanely gorgeous younger man who clambered into her RV insists they belong together. If Mary wasn't feeling their incredible connection in every inch of her being, she wouldn't believe it. But now that the men who took Dante's twin are after her too, trusting her gut means risking her life for an immortal who's the very definition of a perfect stranger.

"This is going to hurt!" <--- So funny. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Dante Notte is facing a few challenges…he has to rescue his brother and keep Mary Winslow safe from their pursuers but the most challenging of all is claiming this smart stubborn woman as his life mate.
Mary wasn’t sure that this naked and insanely gorgeous man didn’t have a head injury to go along with all of his other injuries and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the thrills as Mary has to trust her gut and risk her life for an immortal who’s the very definition of a perfect stranger. There is not a doubt that there is plenty of chemistry sizzling between Dante and Mary but making it to the life mate part of this relationship takes quite a bit of work that is full of gut-wrenching emotions and past purging not to mention the whole difference in ages taboo that Mary has to overcome which readers can certainly relate to but will find that Mary and Dante cause quite a few chuckles with some humorous situations. The characters are strong, compelling and quite the trip as they demand that the readers get to know them in this fast-paced and smooth-flowing plot full of romance, suspense, and excitement.
Speaking of excitement, readers need to hang on tight because starting at the beginning, there is lots of it to be found and quite a few unforgettable scenes like the one that takes place when Dante enters Mary’s life which is one humdinger of an event, I’ll certainly never forget. But of course, there is lots more action and adventure to be found throughout the story as they run from the pursuers and try to find Tomasso when Lucian and the other hunters add additional humor and excitement as the well-written scenes and intriguing events guarantee that there is never a dull moment.
Once again, Lynsay Sands had my undivided attention until I had read every last page of Dante and Mary’s story, and here’s a bit of a warning, there is a new enemy that is causing quite a bit of mayhem and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Originally posted on reviewed-read-by-Eva - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Mary Winslow is on a roadtrip in her RV, probably her last ever road trip, last year her husband died and now she's trying to find some future plans. Her kids are all grown up and moved on with thier lives and she's retired and trying to find a future. She doesn't expect to run over a man, a naked handsome man, who sounds a bit insane but there are people chasing them. It's a romp of a read, the characters are pretty predictable but it kept me reading well past my bedtime.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I finished Runaway Vampire, by Lynsay Sands: I absolutely loved it. The storyline fills fresh. I adore Dante & Mary. 5 stars!
It is hard to believe this is the 23rd Argeneau book.
I really enjoyed Runaway Vampire and I have to say it did not hurt that Dante was buck ass naked for quite a bit of the story.
When widower Mary is taking one last trip in her RV from Texas to Canada with her beloved German shepherd she thinks she has hit something possibly a poor animal. She has no idea that a naked wounded Dante has climbed into her RV while escaping from his captors.
I love the interaction between the soon to be couple. It is quite endearing, to see Mary feel like a pervy cougar and that Dante sees past Marys insecurities of an older woman to see the life loving possible lifemate.
In the search for the twin Dante had to leave behind and the need to keep his newly found love safe the couple find themselves in quite a few harrowing situations.
The ending left me anticipating the 24th installment which has to be Dantes twin brother Tomassos story who is still in the hands of his captors.
I say bring it!!!
I love hardcover books Runaway Vampire is available in mass-market paperback, Kindle, and hardcover! - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I've read some of the Argeneau novels by Lynsay Sands and enjoyed a lot of them, but some are just not my cup of tea and Runaway Vampire is in that number. Mary is an older widow who just isn't that nice or interesting. Dante is great and the only thing that really saves the book. The romance between them was just silly (and uncomfortable to read), and was too conveniently resolved. The cliffhanger ending didn't make me want to read the next book. This book dragged and there was a lot of backstory that has been done over and over in the other books that filled a lot of pages, making the story here even flimsier. Not the best of the series by any means.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another fun entry in the Argeneau vampire series. Dante finds Mary. The chase is on for Dr Dressler.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I so love the Argeneau vampire series. Was very happy to finally have a story about Dante. In the past, Sands has not given us much about Dante and his twin Tomosso. The twins never said much and just lurked in the shadows. I had always thought of them as the big, dumb muscle men. Turns out that Dante is more of a big teddy bear, at least where Mary, his life mate, is concerned. The story moves along quickly, with plenty of action and a bit of romance and a little humor thrown in. All this made for an easy read. Sands style of writing and the way the stories move is one of the main draws for me. Sometimes I just need an escape book that does not require a lot of thought. Sands has also introduced two new characters. So I look forward to their stories. This book left us with a cliffhanger so hopefully the next book will resolve that.
