About this audiobook

A New York Times, Wall Street Journal, & USA Today Dark Romance Series

"I own you. I have the piece of paper to prove it. It's undeniable and unbreakable. You belong to me until you've paid off your debts."

Nila Weaver's family is indebted. Being the first born daughter, her life is forfeit to the first born son of the Hawks to pay for sins of ancestors past. The dark ages might have come and gone, but debts never leave. She has no choice in the matter.

She is no longer free.

Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she's paid off a debt that's centuries old. He can do what he likes with her--nothing is out of bounds--she has to obey.

There are no rules. Only payments.

I'm quite intrigued. It's not a storyline I saw coming and I like that. A lot. What can I say? I'm a sucker for the messed up and depraved. Exquisite detail in the spicy scenes doesn't hurt either.

I do wish all of the books in the series were available as audio, but I do see the rest on scribd as ebooks.

I am trying to wrap my head around what I just read.

The premises of the story was very interesting but seeing it play out was very odd. I couldn't guess the characters next move and whenever I wanted them to take one route they would veer off and take the worse option. I didn't really fall in love with either character, I thought they were both very difficult to enjoy reading about.

I had no idea what to expect when I dove into Debt Inheritance, however, a kidnapping to a cult was not it. This sort of storey would be right up my alley but it wasn't carried out very well and I'm left more confused than intrigued.
