About this audiobook
Forget the story of Peter Pan you know. Because in Everland, the only way to grow up is to survive.
London has been destroyed in a blitz of bombs and disease. The only ones who have survived are children, among them Gwen Darling and her siblings, Joanna and Mikey. They spend their nights scavenging and their days avoiding the ruthless Marauders — the German army led by Captain Hanz Otto Oswald Kretschmer.
Unsure if the virus has spread past England's borders but desperate to leave, Captain Hook hunts for a cure, which he thinks can be found in one of the survivors. He and his Marauders stalk the streets snatching children for experimentation. None ever return. Until the day they grab Joanna.
As Gwen sets out to save her, she meets a mysterious boy named Pete. Pete offers the assistance of his gang of Lost Boys and fierce sharpshooter Bella, who have all been living in a city hidden underground. But in a place where help has a steep price and every promise is bound by blood, it will cost Gwen. And are she, Pete, the Lost Boys, and Bella enough to outsmart Captain Hook?

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Cute non magical steam punk version of Peter pan. Volume was a bit unpredictable, at points. I liked the twist
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well written and skillfully crafted elements kept me engaged. A real “page-turner”!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Love it! It’s a nice twist on Peter Pan! Love the steam punk dystopian aesthetic of the world. The cover is astonishing and always caught my eye. It matches the tone of the book very well. I do think Pete (Peter pan) is a bit of weak character though. For being a modern “leader of the Lost Boys”, he’s pretty plain. Would have loved to see his character fleshed out a bit more. I feel I know more about the side characters (other lost boys) than I do about Pete. The ending was also a bit disappointing as well. Not the climax, but the closing scene. Felt a little rushed and unwarranted as, again, we don’t really get to know Pete, so the impact is sort of lost. Over all, I still very much enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the other installments. It’s worth it for the world building!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a fantastic retelling of Peter Pan! The streamline vibe added an extra bit of fantasy that made it that much more enjoyable. Great narrator and overall wonderful. I can't recommend this highly enough.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5enjoyed it! I really enjoyed this story. The author did a good making a remake of Peter pan. I loved the audio. Full cast for all the characters. It was fun to listen to.
