      Was he just lucky or he really know how to make great deals. In any case, Trump is not an ordinary man, he has ingeniously transform his profits via the art of deal.

      A wonderful book that teaches you quite a bit but at the same time I kind of felt like it rambled off topic a lot but over all I enjoyed it

      The book was kinda dull, at least to me. I found it interesting how he actually made these deals and the somewhat in-depth the writing went but overall I didn't take much from this book. Almost no lessons nor advise but the narrator's voice was great for the kind of story that was being told. I hope he had given more energy into the reading of the book yet, the way the book was written I can't hardly blame him.

      In The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump ( former businessman and current president) describes his secrets of success. He wakes up every morning with a "big picture" attitude; that is, taking on several projects at once. He also knows that he might lose some small battles but win the big one.

      I read this a couple of decades ago. Was not impressed at the time by the massive ego on display. Trump has not done anything in the intervening years to change my opinion. If anything, I think less of him now since witnessing his behavior as POTUS.

      This book seems to be an answer to Jerome Tuccille book Trump. Most of the facts dealt with in this book have been dealt with in Tuccille's book. We get the Donald's view of these deals and the fact to Trump the deal is the main thing. Trump only gives us minimal information about his brother Fred and other family details. These are glossed over quickly and with minimal attention. This book gives insight on Trump's thinking, his hatred for governmental studies and his opinion of Mayor Ed Koch.

      Decided to read this after Trump's recent prominence in the news.

      Holy smokes, what a trainwreck. The man rambles on about his day with celebrities. His negotiating advice is apparently no more than to subdue others with the power of your enormous ego.

      Abandoned.

      I first read this book in 1987 and it's as good today as it was when I first read it. The insights and the trials and tribulations that Trump had to overcome is completely inspiring to anybody who wants to go into business for themselves. Much has been made about Mr. Trump but I can tell you from first hand experience from meeting him that he is a genuinely down to earth man who's easy to talk to and fun to hang out with.

      I really liked this book. Trump was lucky in a lot of ways. His father was a successful New York property developer and Donald was his happy assistant form an early age, falling in love with the business.Add to that, natural charm, energy, optimism, tenacity and straight dealing and you have a big success. I found his reflections on business totally useful and original and underlined paragraph after paragraph.Very highly recommended.

      In Trump: The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump first takes us through a typical week of his busy life (around 1987), then shifts the focus back to his childhood, where helping his father run the family business prepared young Trump for when he later went out on his own. Additionally, we read about a number of projects Trump tackled, with details about how one acquires property, or builds massive skyscrapers.I was pleasantly surprised upon reading this book. You would think that an autobiography of a extremely successful and ambitious man would be a slog, but I found myself smiling at the author's quips, his thoughts on government waste, his impatience with anything but doing the best one can do. I knew virtually nothing about Donald Trump before he began his campaign for President of the US, but after reading this book, I think I understand the man and what makes him "tick" much, much better.Highly recommended, no matter who you plan to vote for.

      Not surprisingly Trump reveals his feelings and his thinking and then tells the reader about the actions he took on his way to the top. Almost 30 years later he likes to share his thoughts as well as his emotions. What's wrong with that when character and honesty seem to be at his core, diplomacy, not so much. Gotta love this guy!

      Interesting to get an insight into a young Donald Trump. His strategies, mind-set and even his willingness to deal with slightly unscrupulous characters if he found a benefit in doing so. Also, great to get some insight into the conversations & circumstances that lead to his early "deals". I'm a little fascinated with him actually. I will be reading more of his books.

      I enjoyed the autobiographical nature of this business book. What Donald has provided here is insight into the psychology of deal making, from both an internal & external standpoint. By way of taking you through the major events in his starting ventures, Donald has provided the truly interested a firsthand account of the art of business

      Look, Donald Trump on Donald Trump was never going to get a rave review from me. We all know this. But my gosh, this was probably one of the deadliest dull books I have ever read in my entire life. It's predictably boring in a way that defies even Fifty Shades of Grey to out-beige. I bet Trump thinks this is The Art of War for aspiring yuppies like Patrick Bateman, but it's really Mein Kampf for lazy, entitled trust fund babies.

      The good news is that I have *plenty* of material on Trump as yuppie icon for the article on which I'm working.
