About this audiobook

READ BY THE AUTHOR

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Do you ever feel left out, lonely, or less than? Learn the secret of belonging, which will help you keep rejections in perspective and be better equipped to foster healthy connections in your relationships.

New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst shares her own deeply personal experiences of rejection from the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over to the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father. She leans in to honestly examine the roots of rejection, as well as rejection's ability to poison relationships from the inside out, including our relationship with God. With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, Lysa will help you:

  • Stop feeling left out by believing that even when you are overlooked by others you are handpicked by God.
  • Change your tendency to either fall apart or control the actions of others by embracing God-honoring ways to process your hurt.
  • Know exactly what to pray for the next ten days to steady your soul and restore your confidence in the midst of rejection.
  • Overcome the two core fears that feed your insecurities by understanding the secret of belonging.

Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or taken—a love that does not reject, but instead accepts and invites.

Tried "reading" this book (aka listening to the audio version) but just could not get past the terrible narration. Too bad since the book came highly recommended!

This was an amazing book!! I cried and laughed as I listening to the audio. I listened to the audio and fished the book in two days. I love it so much that I am going to purchase the book and the study guide. I felt like she was reading my life. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful message. God bless you and I pray for other women that need to read this book to come across it and start living a full-filled life, in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

Great content, but it's read much too quickly. TerKeurst writes with humor and depth. This reader maximizes the comic effect with her speed and perk but doesn't use her pace to linger in the thoughtful places. Distracted from the content.

Honestly loved listening to this book. And I intend to buy the book on Amazon so I can go though and highlight parts that I can go back to and look at And be reminded of the truth when I’m struggling. I would recommend reading or listening to this book.

I loved how the lady reading it changed her voice inflections to fit the emotions that the author was feeling.

I if you’re looking for Bible positive interpretation, You would definitely love the book.
The book is standard and saying that God will love you, and love you, and open your heart for gods love, because you love him, and he loves you.

Too much religious stuff! If you want to write a book about God, can you please say it is a religious book on the cover? I don’t mind reading self help books that have a little spirituality in them but this is just too much!

The author of this book has faced rejection and loss of friendship in her life. She uses her experience to point the reader to Christ. To the relationship that ultimately matters and encourages everyone to live loved by God. I really loved this book and hit close to home in so many ways. I think that whether people are willing to admit it or not, everyone has faced loneliness and rejection in some form throughout their life. This sometimes, not always, can impact you in far-reaching ways. I love how the author continually points back to Jesus. I look forward to adding this book to my library.

I just resonate with Lysa so much! I went through the Bible Study with just the Uninvited Study Guide last year and really got a lot out of it, though I didn't think I would. So this year I decided to buy the book, and it went even deeper into her struggles and personal stories, which was refreshing to hear a leader opening up about their struggles, weaknesses, and failures.
    I would highly recommend!!

While occasionally a bit to folksy in style, this Christian reflection on dealing with rejection in all of its many variations had some really profound thoughts to add to my experience that made this book a worthwhile read for me.

I don't typically read Christian self-improvement books. I chose this one because the subtitle promised that it would address issues of interest to me. I was prepared to be cynical about the contents, and I did find certain features, such as the full-page pull quotes and frequent references to the author's cellulite, a bit much. But Lysa TerKeurst won me over with her openness and sincerity, even if what she had to say wasn't very surprising. She offers some good advice here, but it is only for female evangelical Christians (whom she insists upon calling "girls"). If you don't fit that description, you won't get much out of it, but if you do you may find it useful.
