About this audiobook

They say when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me. Kenton Mayson learned this lesson firsthand when he made assumptions about Autumn Freeman and the kind of woman she was based on what little information he had. What he finds out is that she's not only beautiful but also smart, funny, a fighter, and exactly the kind of woman he wants to share his life with. Autumn made assumptions of her own about Kenton, and now he needs to prove her wrong in order to protect her and their future.

Contrary to the opinion of many reviewers I was very disappointed by this book!

    My issues
First of all the way the story is told (mostly from Autumn's pov) seemed to me a little robotic..I don't know, it lacked fluidity and left me quite detached from the characters and to what happened to them

A lot (and I mean A LOT) it's left unsaid and not in the good/suspenseful way, it felt more like the author chose to not losing the time to explain herself, her character's life and their motivation in favor of adding a lot of random events to keep the drama-level high.
It didn't work for me! At all!

As it was pointed out in some other reviews, this book lacked a lot of depth; it was like reading a recap of a story more than the real story itself.
    As I said, disappointing!

Even Kenton's alpha-male attitude, probably as a consequence of the previous issues since usually I like it, irritated me.
It seemed forced and his behavior toward Autumn was for me more on the 'assholery' side than the sexy one. I'm not a fan of him.

I’m not normally a fan of the ‘Alpha Male’ Hero, but I make an exception for the men Aurora Rose Reynolds creates. While her guys can be a little too Alpha, the female counterparts are typically strong enough to rein in those dominant traits and have the ability to soothe those gentle giants. The Underground Kings series is connected to the Until series. Kenton is the cousin of the Heroes in the latter, and he’s made appearances throughout the series. In Assumption, Kenton defines the proverb “When you ASSUME, you make an ASS out of U and ME.” When Kenton first meets Autumn, a Vegas stripper, he assumes she is that and only that. He doesn’t take the time to get to know her, so when he discovers there’s more to her than her previous occupation, he is thrown through a loop. He does a pretty good job of making up for his mistakes one sweet moment at a time.Autumn might be my favorite female written by Aurora Rose Reynolds. She’s been through hell, but remains strong and sweet. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and is willing to look like a loon to get even. I won’t give up any spoilers, but my favorite scene involves Autumn, a bed, and a car. I couldn’t hold in my smile as I read it. Also, any scene with Autumn and Justin was guaranteed to make me giggle. Their friendship is silly and genuine.Assumption takes a darker turn than the Until series. There’s more violence and questionable actions. The line between right and wrong becomes hazy. We’re introduced to a slew of new characters, some from gritty backgrounds, which is where I’m guessing the “Underground” in the series name comes from. I think as an introductory novel, Assumption does a great job of pulling together the new characters and deeper storyline. I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it!!

Aurora Rose Reynolds writes some of the sexiest alpha heroes I have ever come across. I fell in love with the men of the Until Series and was so excited when she announced that she was writing a companion series! I first met Kenton in Until November and while I was busy swooning over Asher, he did not escape my notice. Kenton is a bounty hunter. A mysterious, tough, sexy guy whose passionate hands and dirty mouth will melt your panties right off! Underneath the tough exterior beats a passionate and loving heart. He’ll throw you on the bed and rock your world, and then be sweet and slow. Yes…I’m fanning myself.Autumn is a girl I’d like to get to know better if I met her on the street. She is independent and can definitely take care of business. She has a sassy mouth that either gets her in trouble, or endears her to those around her. A stripper by night, to pay the bills, and a nurse by day, she is determined to climb her way into the life she wants. After witnessing a killing spree in the club where she works, Autumn is sent to stay with Kenton until the culprit is caught and she is no longer in danger. Well, life threatening danger… Kenton and Autumn practically combust from the sparks between them when they meet.I’ve never had a problem with “love at first sight,” however some people don’t find is as believable. This story is for you. While the attraction burns between the two of them, they take time to work through the misunderstandings and the feelings they have for each other. When Kenton finally accepts what he feels for Autumn, he has his work cut out for him convincing Autumn to do the same. One of my favorite things about Aurora’s men, is that when they fall in love, they put their all into it. Failure is not an option. This is simply the way it’s going to be! It’s damn sexy! Is it hot in here…?Aurora creates love that is strong and resilient. I love the fact that the major conflict in the story surrounds them, but does not break them apart. Autumn and Kenton may struggle with what’s between them, but they are still loyal and keep faith in each other. I’m always impressed with her ability to write such action into a story! It’s not just a small conflict, its heart-pumping thrills and intrigue. She knows how to write scenes that belong in an action movie, and scenes that will burn up the sheets. After the Until Series, Aurora had a lot to live up to in the next book (not that I was worried…but still…) and she certainly didn’t disappoint. When I got to the last page, I put the book down. Five minutes later, I gave in, picked it back up and read it again!
