- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Book 2 in the evil trilogy & in this book we meet Connor Kincaid, an ex-cop turned private investigator. Julia Chandler, Deputy District Attorney, and instrumental in having Connor forced off the police department five years ago, needs his help in proving her niece, Emily's innocence. Emily is being accused of brutally killing her step-father, Judge Montgomery who had sexually abused her. An online group called "Wishlist" where troubled teens express their anger & how they'd kill the person, starts fulfilling the wishes.Connor has never forgiven Julia for her hand in his being forced to resign from the police, but as they rush to try & prove Emily's innocence, they are able to work through some past issues.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This installment in the "Evil" trilogy (Speak No Evil, See No Evil, Fear No Evil) centers around Julia Chandler an assistant district attorney and Conner Kincaid, brother to Carina Kincaid and former police officer. Julia and Chandler have a history and it's not a happy one since it centers on the time when he resigned from the police force. But Julia's niece, Emily, is in trouble and Conner has helped out before as a private eye to help find Emily and Julia needs him now since Emily's stepfather has been murdered and Emily looks like the prime suspect.Julia, Conner and Conner's brother Dillon work together to sort out some strange happenings in their area and track down the killers to help prove Emily's innocence. On the way to that end, Julia and Conner have to work through their feelings from the past and the feelings that they are currently feeling.Loaded with suspense with a side of romance, plus characters you really like, See No Evil is a great read from start to finish. EAch time I set this book down, I couldn't wait until I could pick it up next and see what Julia and Conner would do. The mystery is intricately woven and very enjoyable to try and figure out. The crimes and the subject matter are dark and handled very realistically but you don't feel bogged down by the whole plot. These characters will stay with you for awhile as well as the circumstances in which the crimes were committed. Ms. Brennan has another winner on her hands and I'm only sorry I didn't read this earlier!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5See No Evil is the second book of the “Evil trilogy”.Assistant district attorney, Julia Chandler’s niece, Emily is charged for murder of her stepfather. Conner Kincaid, a private investigator, helps on the case along with Conner’s brother, Dillion. When Julia finds out that Emily had be sexually abused she can’t help remember the promised she gave to her brother before he died. She feels like she has let her brother down by allowing this to happen. Julia cannot accept that Emily would ever brutally murder anyone and will do anything to find the real killer.Other people are being murdered. An online group of troubled teens called “Wishlist” seem connected in some way. I enjoyed the first book “Speak No Evil” and couldn’t wait to read this second book. I found once that I hit the half way mark in this book I got lost. I had trouble remembering who was who. Even at the end when it all came together I didn’t quite understand all the connections. Maybe it is just me, but I liked the first book so much more. I am looking forward to the third book in the trilogy though.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Julia and Connor uncover a chain of unsolved violent crimes tied to an on-line website where the therapist has his patients post lethal fantasies. Of course you know where this is going. Someone has decided to turn virtual reality into actual reality. A very good story. I just enjoyed the story, the excitement of figuring out the bad guy and of course the ending, I never saw that coming.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A good suspense story with a little romance and plenty of action that moved right along. I liked how they all worked to solve the crime but the progression of the hate-to-love relationship was not very believable. When attorney Julia's niece is a murder suspect she asks Connor to investigate despite their old animosity.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5See No Evil(Soul Eater #3)by Pippa DaCostaAce and Cat have a trip that goes a bit sideways, like to hell! Trapped in his homeland but can't get back to New York. A monster is hunting them and so is a vengeful god. Good story! Kept me entertained!
