Cute, fast cozy mystery. Getting better as the series builds on the character development.

I liked the first book in this series well enough to listen to the second, but after #3, I know for sure who the killer is in every. single. book. I won't spoil it for anyone still enjoying these, but it's basically like "Mad Libs". Just change a few words, et voila! New book! I did like the addition of the recipes in this book, that was fun.

I’m really enjoying this series. It almost seems like a “grown up” Nancy Drew!
It’s an easy read and I like to listen to the audiobook while I’m walking the dogs or running errands!

pleasant detective type mystery, nothing gruesome, well written., lady heroine.

I thought this was the best book of the series so far. The entire plot was logical and well thought out Fran was very logical about here making a case and even though she came to the wrong conclusion it made sense, also it was pointed out early on that she'd been taking the kickboxing class so it also made sense that she might be able to overpower her opponent
The best thing about the series are the characters and more locals were introduced in this book so hopefully they'll continue in future books.
The worst thing about the book is how short they are, they only take a few hours to read and they would be better with more details and more interactions between the characters.
Worth the money if you can get it on sale for $.99

I greatly enjoyed reading this book. The series gets better as we get to know the characters. I found the murder in this book to be one of the most plausible of the series. I highly recommend this book.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

A suspected suicide is found outside of the souvenir shop in Cape Bay. Fran keeps thinking about it and realizes it is not a suicide but murder. Disregarding the police's order to not investigate, Fran does just that. With her information can the police solve the crime? This started a little slow and confusing. I had to reread the beginning to understand it. The story picks up as Fran starts investigating. She has a logical mind and can see what the police have overlooked. The mystery was good and how Fran pieced it together was interesting.I like these characters and look forward to reading more of them in the next book.

Margaritas, Marzipan, and Murder is the third book in A Cape Bay Mystery series by Harper Lin. Francesca “Fran” Amaro is thirty-four years old and runs Antonia’s Italian Café (which was started by her family). Fran is enjoying a night out with Sammy (Samantha Eriksen) and Dawn. Sammy just broke up with her boyfriend of ten years (he was a mama’s boy who would not commit). They are enjoying margaritas when they hear about a dead body by Mary Ellen’s Souvenirs and Gifts. They decide to comfort Mary Ellen and maybe check things out along the way.The deceased is Abraham Casey who is a pharmacist from Boston. He booked a room at the bed and breakfast three months in advance. Why was he in town and who wanted him dead? Fran cannot help but look into the matter. Detective Mike Stanton tries to stop Fran, but Fran is unstoppable wants she sets her mind on something. Will Fran be able to find the killer before the killer finds Fran?Margaritas, Marzipan, and Murder is a cute cozy mystery novel. I just wish the author had provided a few more clues to help solve the mystery (so we can follow the bread crumbs). The mystery was easy to solve (actually I thought it was obvious), but I like following the clues throughout the story to solve a mystery. The writing is good in the book and I enjoy the characters. Fran can be a little clueless at times, but she is overall a good person. I give Margaritas, Marzipan, and Murder 4 out of 5 stars.I received a complimentary copy of Margaritas, Marzipan, and Murder from the author in exchange for an honest review.
