About this audiobook

A 1950s hospital. Temporary amnesia. A naked man running through Central Park yelling something about alien space tentacles. Tinfoil, duct tape, and bananas. These are the ingredients for a spectacular romp through a world you never thought possible as aliens reach out and make contact with Earth.

Don't let the title fool you. This story is cleverly told. Makes fun of the alien genre while keeping a good balance of light-hearted fun and action.

This book started out pretty funny but by the second hour it turned into self indulgent garbage where the author's personal opinions on any given matter are talked about as absolute truths. The writing is meant to be taken as some alien race that far outpaces our own intelligence, spelling out for one of us "lower beings" the facts of human nature. It attempts this and fails miserably, as the author's personal bias towards each subject that is brought up shines through above anything else. I'd expect something like this from a highschool English paper, not a humourous short story about aliens.

That's my second Cawdron book and they seem to have a similar underwhelming nature. He seems to be someone with good ideas but the implementation just isn't there. The book isn't all bad, it's decently written, not a lot of cliches and some ideas are interesting enough.. it's just a little boring.

This was my second time listening to this book, and it was enjoyable even more than the first time. The author has a vivid imagination and is able to articulate his thoughts to the reader.

For all of you that read the title and think wtf and are curious enough to read the comments thank you I am not alone this book is funny and very optimistic for humanities future (AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE SEXUAL CONTENT) one scene with a naked lady and I couldn't stop laughing through the whole thing got some really weird looks at work that day

All in all will totally recommend

What a hoot , I don't think I have enjoyed a book this much in years , I found myself smiling and chuckling while listening , well done Peter, a very good story with a very good message , we can only hope that the powers that be take it on board . I also hope someone makes it into a movie , I really want to see that jail cell scene LOL.

The pacing was just a liiiiitle weird, but the story overall was worth it. Great delivery by the narrator, fun moments in the story, insightful commentary of the human condition and fun stuff like that

Okay I am hooked.Definitely uneven but then again so was Ursula K Le Guinn. So far nothing as great as Left Hand of Darkness or The Lath of Heaven But this one was actually more fun than anything I have read by Ursula K Le Guin. This one was just a fun romp. Bu I look forward to the next one and seeing how deep it will go. Nice to have a bunch more to keep me company While driving down the road doing the dishes etcetera. it's special when an author can provide that pleasure but also sometimes get you to think a good bit

Funny, interesting. Kept my attention. A nice departure from his harder sci-fi books.

Good short tale. Fun internal dialogue, and a little bit of whit. I overall enjoyed the message, it did a good job conveying it without being too heavy-handed.
