About this audiobook

A lush, tropical island on an icy planet makes no sense.

Then again, not much makes sense anymore after waking up and finding myself not in bed but on a strange world populated by aliens. Since that moment, I've learned that nothing is normal anymore and I've got to roll with the punches. I can handle this, though. I'm strong and capable.

So . . . washed up on a tropical island? Got it handled.

Separated from the others in my group? Handled.

Stranded alone with a brutal but delicious alien man that can't speak English but has great . . . ahem . . . body language? Yup, handled.

Add in the fact that my cootie-a symbiont I need to survive-has chosen my big, hulking alien friend as my fated mate? Let's just say that the situation isn't the only thing that's going to be handled.

But it isn't long before I learn that the tropical island paradise is a death trap and we're all in grave danger, aliens, and humans alike. To survive this, I'll need my tempting guy to give me a hand with the situation . . . good thing he's got four of them.

Contains mature themes.

IPB is like a comfort read for me. They're light and fun. It looks like ice home is going to be the same. It's not doing anything groundbreaking, and it's kind of the same storyline, but if you go in expecting that, then it's fine. I didn't like that the narrators pronounced words differently and had different accents to Holly Jackson and Mason Lloyd.

Sooooo good!!! This picks right up with the new group that arrives in the Ice Planet. Love Lauren and Katar and OMG 4 arms!! If we thought the peen with the spur was amazing add to that 4 hands roaming all over you ?‍??‍??‍?!!! Ruby Dixon, I don’t know how you come up with this stuff but this was a great start to this spinoff series!! The plot, the steam, the humor loved it all!!

I love that we fall back on the language issues of not understanding each other and having to work together. This brought me back how I felt when I started the Ice Planet Barbarian’s series. You could start this series Icehome, but I’d recommended starting with Ice Planet Barbarian’s. The original tribe do come back to play a roll though we do move onto all the new humans and a few aliens that found themselves stuck on this planet. We finally get see that island across the water that’s been mentioned. The romance was great. Excited to read on.

If hope you read the IPB series first. It helps with plot formation, but Lauren does do a good job of retelling details.

This book felt like a redo of Georgie’s hero arc (Lauren has to look out for Mari, but gets way too distracted by her mate and forgets her, the huge language barrier). It didn’t feel new. It felt redone.

This book was action-packed yet somehow so boring. Was it the change in narrator? The fact that both Lauren and her mate are drier than an Arizona sidewalk? A man with four arms is creepy and odd to me?

I can’t put my finger on it, but I do hope this series gets better.

    Very nice twist of events.
    Its a good read/listen.
I wonder if we’ll get to learn about the origins of clan differences in other books

I like the story. The pacing and narration was fine, although I found Lauren's character slightly irritating and I'm not sure if it the personality or just the situation that brought out the annoying side. She toggle between a really caring person to a bitchy, know it all. Mari was fraidy cat and she definitely need someone to take care of her (a man). She would have died in the beginning without Lauren help.

Very good. Only issue I have is the difference in narrators. I fell in love with the narrators voices for everyone in the Ice Planet Barbarians series. Though I love the narrators voices in this book, but listening to characters I know very well with different voices is a little rough. But the story and characters are so good, I think I can get over it ;D

A good start to a new tribe and new series on the ice planet. I'm not entirely sure that I would call it a spin-off since the two series are going to be running at the same time and will intersect with each other.

I wondered if Ruby was going to get Lauren and Marisol back to the rest of our favorite blue aliens, and if so, how. I'm quite glad the way ended up. I have to admit, I like the 3 new clans we got from the island, and I look forward to seeing how everything is going to work.

First chapter in Icehome, an offshoot of the Ice Planet Barbarians series. No need to read IPB to enjoy Icehome but they are a great series! This is a great story of bravery, open-mindedness and of course love. The H and h are strong and likeable characters. Can't wait for more in this series.
