About this audiobook

Jaxxon Carter, barmaid, would like nothing more than to better her current situation. A one-bedroomed flat, a sleazy landlord, drug-addicted neighbors-not exactly a childhood dream. When a chance encounter leads to a modelling job, she is catapulted to the peak of success. She also finds herself the focus of lethally sensual Connor McKenzie, who she hasn't seen since he left their foster home and went on to become a Formula One driver. But she has no intention of giving in to the mindless need between them. He hurt her once, and she won't allow it to happen a second time.

Confident, determined, compelling . . . Connor McKenzie isn't a man who deprives himself of what he wants. There was only one thing he ever resisted, and it was the one thing he wanted most: the unknowingly enticing Jaxxon. When he sees her on the cover of a magazine, it reawakens every urge he buried. She tries to keep him out of her life, but Connor can't let it go. He resisted her ten years ago for a good reason. But now that reason is no longer there, and he's resolute that nothing-not even Jaxxon-will stop him from having her.

Amazing as always. Enjoyed every last word. Suzanne knows how to write a sassy, strong and independent female better than most.
This book is filled with laughter, tears, angs and about 100 different emotions.
And I cannot even start on the Alpha Male. All I can say is yum.

This was an ok book. I liked all the characters, however the typos, spelling and grammatical errors were really bad!!! I also hated how much drama there was, but very VERY little payback. I don't know, I wanted to like this book much more than I actually did.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the fire between the main characters. They were both broken in so many ways, but together they were whole again.
There were a lot of unbelievable parts, but hey, it's fiction!
Would love to see more from this author.

This one wasn’t overly well written, the characters were over-drawn, the story was kind of a cheesy and unbelievable cinderella-type of thing with plot holes as big as an eighteenwheeler.
BUT: it was entertaining. Also kudos to the female character for not falling into plot-cliches when confronted with relationship-phobic Alpha-male.
I loved the author’s other book which was written later than this one, I assume, so I am looking forward to her new books.

After arguing with myself for a couple of minutes now, I decided to go for a review.

I didn't know a thing about the book before I started reading, so I didn't have any expectations whatsoever... BUT I had problems getting into the story right at the beginning.

The setup was too unrealstic for me - Yes, yes, this is fiction, I know (I can almost hear the protests rushing my way) but I need to be able to imagine that this could actually happen and I simply couldn't. That alone put me off a little right from the start.

When a book holds a warning that it "contains a bitchy female that curses like a sailor [...] and explicit hot sex in some very public places.", well then that's what it should contain but I didn't find much of that.

Yes, Jaxx is a bitch (albeit a likeable one) but I've heard/read people cussing a lot worse (and maybe that should make me reconsider my book choices), so it didn't warrant a warning for me.

Next comes the sex and I don't quite know what to say because I found it a bit boring and thus skipped many of the sex scenes.

The story certainly had potential and I really liked Jaxx, she was different from the usual heroine and amazingly outspoken/blunt. Connor however annoyed the hell out of me as he was too exaggerated for my taste.

I don't want to knock this (because most of us realize how much work authors put into their books), however there's not much more good I can find at this point - it simply wasn't my cup of tea and I had troubles warming up to it. So give it a try and see for yourself if it's something that you might enjoy :).
