About this audiobook

Scot Harvath must do whatever it takes to prevent the United States from being dragged into a deadly war in this heart-pounding thriller that is “timely, raw, and filled with enough action for two books” (The Real Book Spy) from the #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor.

Across Europe, a secret organization has begun attacking diplomats. Back in the United States, a foreign ally demands the identity of a highly placed covert asset. In the balance hang the ingredients for all-out war.

With his mentor out of the game, counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath must take on the role he has spent his career avoiding. But, as with everything else he does, he intends to rewrite the rules—all of them.

In Spymaster, Scot Harvath is more cunning, more dangerous, and deadlier than ever before.

It kept me interested, it’s not overbearing with descriptions .

It was a little slow starting but then it was great. I thought, wow, so current, then realized it had just been released. Hooked at the end, I’ll read the author again.

My first foray into spy thrillers. Very good. Narrator took some time to get used to.

Hate massive cliffhangers or Brad Thor's art-interesting life book would earned 5 stars. Sometimes remember all characters and their roles within this book. Was thrown off in the beginning because the writing was sophomoric (Norway). Also they were in forest and the fire didn't become ablaze causing yet more trouble. Didn't seem plausible. Other than that sprinkling in current events was great

Spymaster: A Thriller is a slow moving book. It paid a lot of attention to character build up more than the actual story. The book had an ending that did not end; clearly so that the reader would have to wait for the next book in order to find out what happened to the characters, if he/she had an interest or cared. This book received a solid three stars in this review.

General comments on "Hidden Order" and "Foreign Influence" apply.Thor's tradecraft is good, because I could follow and enjoy most of the action without being a fan-follower of the series. It is challenging to write a real-time politico-thriller, but I think he gives a good picture of how things work in the covert world, while clearly having his group function at a "don't we wish" level, as is true of most TV and movies.
