About this audiobook

Amazon’s #1 Most Unputdownable Book of the Year.

An Amazon Charts bestseller.

A Wall Street Journal bestseller.

A Washington Post bestseller.

From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story of secondhand hearts and second chances…

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.

Something blue.

I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”

Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.

He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.

But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.

Something new.

But I have no idea how this one is going to end…

I loved that the writer took time to develop the character, explore their nuances and show how these two happened to come together. There wasn’t much redundant verbiage that are typical in the romance genre. I enjoyed this thoroughly.

I don’t give many books 5 star reviews but this book was thoroughly enjoyable. Loved the back and forth. Great build up and some unexpected events. Very well-done.

It was a good read but the love scenes were clichéd and gringy.

I loved Charlotte’s feistiness & her mentorship with Iris. I know these books always end with the two people find there way back to each other but the writing showed depth(with good sex) in a relationship with emotional challenges & difficult decisions to be made. This is my first book with this author & I hope to listen to more.

This book had a little bit of everything. It was smart, funny, loving, heartfelt, witty, sexy and it had a twist I never seen coming….. I wish the sex scene(s) we’re way better.,,I wish they had more depth to them. And the ending was sweet. But it seemed to be rushed. I would give the performance from The narrators 4.5/5 stars and 3.45/5 stars because it lacked scenes and seemed to be a bit rushed on the HEA. I’d recommend definitely,

Enjoyed it. Loved the way the characters were developed. I was happy that Charlotte did not give up on Reed, and Reed finally realised that she is really the one. But it would not have happened if the grandmother did not get involved.

Didn't think much of the first half of the book and nearly gave up a few times. Charlotte's behaviour isn't endearing. She acknowledges that she's "prying", but really, it's beyond that. She basically forces her way into his life and is a stalker. Honestly, he's supposed to just have been dumped before his wedding and she's at his show home, then his work, going through personal files on his computer, asking him extremely personal questions early on that had me screaming " NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!", opening the door in her underwear when he's already said he isn't ready. It's really quite creepy. She came across as really pathetic and desperate.

The second half of the book redeemed itself a bit because we got more of a back story and deeper insight to the characters, but overall it was just a big clichéd letdown.

I enjoyed Hate Notes more than their previos novels. The characters were more complex and engagIng, I loved the grandmother! Both main characters had distressing personal issues to cope with. There's also lots of fun banter between boss and employee. It's a romance, so there aren't any major, surprising plot twists, but the story moves along smoothly, keeping the reader's interest to the end. I listened to it in one evening and into the wee hours! Sebastian York really brings Reed to life, especially his 'secret', which you will never guess and makes him so restrained throughout the novel. The epilogue was a nice idea, too.

Keeland’s books are always great, but this one was exceptional! Dealing with issues that can be particularly sentimental, I had all the feels throughout…the HEA was perfection! Keeland’s style shone with elements that were both sweet and steamy, humorous, and life lessons throughout the read. Narration was excellent…highly recommend!
