About this audiobook

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson comes a new novella collection, including a brand new, never-been-published story.

Stephen Leeds is perfectly sane. It's his hallucinations who are mad.

A genius of unrivaled aptitude, Stephen can learn any new skill, vocation, or art in a matter of hours. However, to contain all of this, his mind creates hallucinatory people—Stephen calls them aspects—to hold and manifest the information. Wherever he goes, he is joined by a team of imaginary experts to give advice, interpretation, and explanation. He uses them to solve problems . . . for a price.

His brain is getting a little crowded and the aspects have a tendency of taking on lives of their own. When a company hires him to recover stolen property—a camera that can allegedly take pictures of the past—Stephen finds himself in an adventure crossing oceans and fighting terrorists. What he discovers may upend the foundation of three major world religions—and, perhaps, give him a vital clue into the true nature of his aspects.

Legion: The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds includes the novellas Legion and Legion: Skin Deep, published together for the first time, as well as a brand new Stephen Leeds novella, Lies of the Beholder.

I love Brandon Sanderson's work on the whole, but it's possible that this is my favorite thing he's written, I haven't quite decided yet. The horror I feel for Stephen is palpable, and the way Brandon is able to make me feel for and understand the layers in characters who are literally supposed to be one-note personalities but just aren't is fascinating. The third book in this in particular may have some of the best writing I've ever encountered. I cared so much for these characters in such a short time, it's amazing. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys books even a little. So, so good.

A very unique concept from a very talented writer. I feel like I wanted more books to wrap it all up, but it still holds a high standard throughout. The fantastic narrator captures the characters to such a degree that he is unnoticeable (if that description makes sense). Recommended!

A favorite tale by Brandon. Being a professional mental health therapist, I found this psychological thriller to be delightful.

Amazing like everything BS writes. And Oliver Wyman is one of my favorite narrators.

My aspects are telling me I have to give this a five star review. Can't argue with that I suppose ;) Great book. I now understand a bit more how Brandon must feel having created so many living characters and worlds. A great stand-alone for sure!

Book is ok, not too great. Felt lame to me after Elantris and Warbreaker. Narration is HORRIBLE, especially when he attempts different accents and female voices.
