      Just a little bit of romance and a lot of intrigue. Never knew what would happen next! Lots of suspense. I like how God was brought into it and their faith showed.

One of her client’s has been suffering from paranoia, thinking someone is out to kill him. Grace has tried to work with him to alleviate his fears. She receives a strange phone message from him, and then shortly thereafter she is notified that her client has been found dead. At first, the police think his dead a suicide. Grace isn’t so sure. When the detective assigned to the case arrives, Grace is surprised to see her old college friend Nate. He suggests searching her office for clues that her client might have left there as per his phone message. Upon arriving at her office to go over his file, she finds her office has been ransacked. As the two try to uncover the clues left by her client, danger awaits.Grace and Nate are both grieving and help one another emotionally as each can identify with the grief the other is experiencing. Like all of Lisa’s books, faith appears in the story naturally as a part of the lives of her characters. It isn’t force-fed down the reader’s throat. The action is intense, but the romantic angle is there too. The ending was a little abrupt for me, but the novel is still well done and an entertaining read.       If you love romantic suspense, you are in for a treat with A Secret to Die For by Lisa Harris.Still reeling a bit from tragedy, psychologist Grace Callahan finds herself the focus of a dark plot. Detective Nick Quinn, still affected by trauma of his own, can’t help wanting to protect her, an old college friend. Murder, secrets, and a chance to become reacquainted drive their story forward at a fast, twisted pace.I enjoyed A Secret to Die For—especially seeing Grace and Nick reconnect after so many years and discover healing and romance amidst all the action. It’s a thrilling, sweet, and all-around entertaining read.Thanks to Revell Reads, I received a complimentary copy of A Secret to Die For and the opportunity to provide an honest review.       I took this book on vacation and enjoyed it very much. The suspense was well written.

      Gracie and Nate are old friends that reconnect when Nate is assigned to a case that she is a part of. I liked seeing their friendship grow and how Nate wanted to protect her , but also not get too close to her. It really keeps you guessing what is going to happen and if they will come to the right conclusion on time. There are some twists to the story that make it a good read.

      Psychologist Grace Calloway has a secret to die for – the only problem is that she doesn’t know what it is! After one of her clients is murdered, she is drug into a plot to do grave harm to the USA. She and police detective Nate Quinn (whom she had known while in college) have to work to find the murders – and stop the damage to the country. Both of the main characters are recovering from tragic events, and are still learning how to deal with varying degrees of PTSD. All in all, this is a very good Christian romantic suspense novel. I enjoyed this book – the mystery is fast-paced and keeps you guessing and the characters are very realistic. This is the first book I have read by this author – but it won’t be the last! I won this book as part of the EarlyReviewers through LibraryThing.

      How is the death of a man and a break-in connected? They both involve Psychologist Grace Callahan. Her patient, Stephen Shaw, was the man that was found shot in the head and her house is the one that was broken into by someone who thought Stephen gave her something.Homicide detective Nate Quinn has just been cleared to return to duty after being injured in a bombing. He is assigned the case of the death of Stephen Shaw and soon connects it to Grace, who he knew back in college.They race to figure out the mystery of the murder of Stephen, what he could have left her and was there a truth behind his paranoia, while trying to stay alive. They are also both trying to cope with losses in their lives and trying to deal with their feeling for each other. Can they manage to stay alive long enough to find the person behind this? Can they both manage to come to terms with loss to move forward in their lives?This is a suspenseful read that doesn't give up until the end.

      MY, WHAT A BOOK! I felt sorry for Gracie to have lost her daughter to cancer and then to loose her husband through a divorce! When one pf her clients is murdered, all evidence goes to her, but she doesn't know why. All she knew is that he trusted her to make it right. Detective Nate Quinn had been cleared to return for duty when HE was the only one of his team that had not died and he blamed himself! As the two college members met again he uncovers the fact that Gracie's life in danger but can they move beyond friends if they can stay alive?

      I won this book as part of a library thing giveaway. I enjoyed reading it. It had a good story to it. It is my first book read by this author. I hope to read more books by this author.

      This book grabbed my interest right from the start and didn't let go. It's an excellent mystery with plenty of suspense to keep you guessing. The characters are well written with backstories and very real problems that make them feel fully human rather than just words on a page. I didn't want to put it down until the mystery was solved.

      I enjoyed the first half of the book, interesting plot, good character development. However, mid way it took a "religious" turn and the dialogue got a bit elementary. The ending could have been more intriguing. I wouldn't recommend.

      This was the second book I have read by Lisa Harris and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were lots of twists and turns in the plot that kept me wanting to read it. It was a hard book to put down as I wanted to see what would happen next. I would recommend this author and plan to read more of her books in the future.

      I love books that are filled with intrigue and subtle clues throughout the book to solve the mystery. The author has done just that in this action packed book.Grace is a psychologist that meets lots of different people. I always wonder if the psychologist is ever afraid of their patient. With great descriptions and an adrenaline rush this story had me on the edge of my seat. When Grace has a patient with a deep secret, what happens when that secret becomes dangerous? Can Grace outsmart who is after her?Nathan is a welcome addition to the story and adds adventure to the story. Grace and Nathan team up to keep one step ahead of the suspect and keep both of them alive. What secret does she know that someone would kill for? I'm glad the author made Grace a strong and smart character. She is not one to give up and her determination is off the wall.They both have something in common which brings them closer together. I think that with them both dealing with trauma it will help them keep each other safe . Grace draws on her faith and that keeps her grounded. The danger these two are put in is non stop and the race is on to see who survives. The book is well written and the mystery is so good I couldn't stop reading.I received an advanced copy of this book from Librarything Early readers program. The review is my own opinion.

      The death of one of psychologist Grace Callahan's patients throws her back together with college friend Nate Quinn who is now a homicide detective. Both are struggling with survivor guilt issues--though Nate's are more recent than Grace's--and both use this as an excuse for why they don't want to get too close to others. There appear to be some good discussions about survivor guilt within their conversations. At the same time, they're trying to figure out the why behind the death--and that's a bit more complicated. I kept turning the pages to see if they would figure out who was behind it.I do think you have to suspend belief a bit--so many things happen to Grace and Nate as the plot plays out that I had to wonder if they'd really come through so many things without much physical harm as the plot has happen. But by the end, I was hoping they'd get past their hang ups and end up together. Note: I received an ARC of this book through LibraryThing's Early Reviewers Group in exchange for an honest review.

      If you want a book to get the adrenaline pumping, A Secret to Die for is the book for you. As I have come to expect from a Lisa Harris novel, this book is an action-packed ride from beginning to end. Someone is after Grace Callahan, a psychologist, and she has no idea why. Unbeknownst to her, a client of hers has given her secret information that others are willing to kill for to obtain it. When her client turns up dead, Nate Quinn is assigned the case. In the past, Grace and Nate had been good friends but lost touch over the years. Readers have the privilege of watching their friendship be rekindled while pondering the question of whether this is turning into more than a friendship or not. All of this happens in the midst of Nate's PTSD from a recent case he worked where a bomb killed several people including his partner and Grace's grief from a situation in her own personal life. Oh yeah, I can't forget this also happens while someone is working very hard to make sure Grace doesn't live long enough to figure out the secret information she was given by her client. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book, fasten your seat belt, and enjoy the nail-biting suspense.I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

      This is a wonderful book filled with suspense and romance. There are a lot of twists and turns. Grace and Nate become reunited after losing touch after college. Nate must protect Grace after she helps one of her patients. I really love this author and her stories. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

      There are a group of authors who I can count on every time I pick up their book. Lisa Harris is one of those writers and A Secret to Die For did not disappoint me. The characters were well written, and I appreciated the way the heroine, Grace Callahan, handled being divorced after a tragic event destroyed her marriage. Nate Quinn is working through his own PTSD issues while trying to protect Grace. The story is filled with action and yet balances romance in a realistic way as Grace and Nate are reunited after years of being apart. When one of Grace’s patients is murdered, she and Nate are thrust into uncovering the truth behind conspiracy theories and crazed accounts. The twists are unexpected, and the book had me flipping pages long into the evening. Lisa Harris always delivers a great story and A Secret to Die For was no exception.

      Wow! Another wild ride from Lisa Harris.

      As soon as I saw that this book features a character dealing with PTSD, I knew I wanted to read it. Detective Nate Quinn is still dealing with the psychological aftereffects of a bombing that killed 18 people, including his partner. From the first chapter, I loved reading Nate's story and his struggles with faith following such a traumatic event. Harris did a great job depicting this subject in a way that was heart-wrenchingly realistic.
      I also loved Grace's character (and her name. <3) and her story arc as she learned to love and trust again after much loss. Both the main characters were incredibly realistic and easy to connect with.

      The plot. Whoa! Like I said, a wild ride! This book starts out with a bang, and the craziness is almost nonstop. The mystery was intriguing, and I was kept guessing as to the identity of the true villain. While the subject matter (a cyberterrorist attack on the US grid) seemed slightly far-fetchedfuturistic, it was still interesting nonetheless. And the technical aspect, while not overly detailed, was particularly interesting to me.

      One thing that I love about each of Harris's books is the strong, realistic Christian themes presented throughout. While that subject tends to get lost in a lot of Christian romantic suspense books, Harris always does a fabulous job of incorporating it very naturally into the story, and I often find my own faith and beliefs strengthened by it.

      My main gripe would be that the ending felt very sudden and slightly anticlimactic. After the adrenaline-laced first three-quarters of the book, it just felt a little lackluster. Plus a little more time to wrap things up would have been nice.

      But overall, I greatly enjoyed this new release from Lisa Harris and recommend it to lovers of good, clean romantic suspense.

      CONTENT NOTE: Recommended for ages 15 . This book is very clean, with little more than a few not-described kisses in the way of romance, and some violence. People are shot at, run off the road and nearly drowned, kidnapped, etc.

      Lisa Harris has long been a must-read author for me. She always presents an intriguing mystery filled with all the suspenseful elements I desire. Along with that, Harris writes believable and relatable characters that by the end of the book seem like old friends. She does not disappoint in her latest novel, A Secret to Die For. This book is a recommended read.A Secret to Die For starts with a bang and the fast-paced action never lets up throughout the course of the novel. If you like your suspense high-octane, then you’ll love this book. Threats to main characters Grace and Nate seem unrelenting, but I was especially intrigued by the bigger threat to the nation as cyber-terrorism unfolds. The author creates a credible scenario that made me wish I had a few more supplies on hand! While I always love the suspense-filled ride Harris takes me on, I also appreciate the realistic romantic relationship that develops between the main characters. There are complications from their recent pasts that keep them wary making me really believe the feelings that they have. The two have faced losses and are reluctant to be vulnerable again. While Grace’s faith seems solidly established, Nate struggles with trusting God. He has doubts that all believers can identify with. The big question examined is can God be trusted when no answers seem to be forthcoming. Harris does a good job at balancing the religious themes with an entertaining story. The result is a great novel for fans of inspirational fiction.I really liked A Secret to Die For and am confident you will too.Recommended.Audience: adults.(Thanks to Revell for a complimentary copy.       Once I turned the first page I was gone, be ready for a fast-paced action packed read. You will never see most of what happens coming, and yet it is one of those being at the right place at the right time happenings.The author does a wonderful job of keeping your attention, from beginning to end, and the title sure pulled me in, and you will quickly know how the title applies, and when you learn what is happening it could be so true.There is a bit of sweet romance, not knowing what you’re looking for, and maybe an end to life as we know it, yes this is just a few of the happenings in this book.I received this book through Revell Publishing, and was not required to give a positive review.

      I was in the mood for a romantic suspense. Which this book is one. Yet, I thought the chemistry that Grace and Nate had was "medium". There is nothing wrong with "medium" but I was looking and hoping for "spicy". However, as this book is published by a Christian publisher, I can understand the heat level. On the bright side, this book is not preachy in regards to the word of God. The story started out good. It had a intense scene. From there the next several chapters were still riding the high from the beginning. Grace did prove right away that she was not a helpless woman. Although, having some help does not hurt. Nate did a fine job of protecting Grace for the most part and solving the case. Personally, as much as I liked Grace and Nate; I could not establish that strong connection to them or the storyline. Readers of cozy mysteries may like this book.

      It isn't often that I start and finish a book in the same day. Usually life gets in the way, but for this book the world passed me by as I read until I was done! What started out as an ordinary suspense novel quickly became a story of "I have no idea who is good and who isn't." Grace is a psychologist, used to listening to clients and trying to help them through their difficulties. When a client who thought someone was out to get him is murdered, the rollercoaster of danger begins.Don't miss this fabulous book - it really was almost impossible to put down!       A Secret to Die For is fast-paced, suspenseful and emotional. A psychologist, a detective with PTSD, a brilliant hacker and an off the grid father  - those are the characters that compose this action packed conspiracy. Psychologist, Grace Callahan, discovers that a client has left her with something crucial, yet she doesn't know what it is or where it is or even why he left it for her. She has no choice but to begin digging for answers to those questions, as her life depends on it. Detective Nate Quinn is cleared for duty and he is faced with a new case where he is reunited with a college friend involved in a twisted case. As details begin to emerge so does the action, Grace is being hunted down with each new clue she unravels. Nate's PTSD is haunting him and holding him back from the emotions he is feeling toward Grace. Who can they trust? Are they following the right leads? Should Grace be involved at all? Are the feelings they have for each other driven by adrenaline or true affection? All of these questions beg to be answered as the story unfolds. There are plenty of twists and turns that make this a riveting romance and suspense novel. If you enjoy suspense and crime novels, but are looking for one that has a bit of heart then you have found your next book.

Now the bad guys think before he died that he left her with the information they need to finish their catastrophic plans and they’ll stop at nothing to get what they want. Again, Ms. Harris doesn’t disappoint readers with her edge- of-your-seat, heart-in-your-throat roller coaster ride of suspense. From the first sentence to the last you will hold your breath, waiting to see what happens next.
