About this audiobook
“The F*ck It Diet is not only hilarious, it is scientifically and medically sound. A must read for any chronic dieter.” –Christiane Northrup, MD, New York Times bestselling author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom
From comedian and ex-diet junkie Caroline Dooner, an inspirational guide that will help you stop dieting, reboot your relationship with food, and regain your personal power
DIETING DOESN’T WORK
Not long term. In fact, our bodies are hardwired against it. But each time our diets fail, instead of considering that maybe our ridiculously low-carb diet is the problem, we wonder what’s wrong with us. Why can’t we stick to our simple plan of grapefruit and tuna fish??? Why are we so hungry? What is wrong with us??? We berate ourselves for being lazy and weak, double down on our belief that losing weight is the key to our everlasting happiness, and resolve to do better tomorrow. But it’s time we called a spade a spade: Constantly trying to eat the smallest amount possible is a miserable way to live, and it isn’t even working. So fuck eating like that.
In The F*ck It Diet, Caroline Dooner tackles the inherent flaws of dieting and diet culture, and offers readers a counterintuitively simple path to healing their physical, emotional, and mental relationship with food. What’s the secret anti-diet? Eat. Whatever you want. Honor your appetite and listen to your hunger. Trust that your body knows what it is doing. Oh, and don’t forget to rest, breathe, and be kind to yourself while you’re at it. Once you get yourself out of survival mode, it will become easier and easier to eat what your body really needs—a healthier relationship with food ultimately leads to a healthier you.
An ex-yo-yo dieter herself, Dooner knows how terrifying it can be to break free of the vicious cycle, but with her signature sharp humor and compassion, she shows readers that a sustainable, easy relationship with food is possible.
Irreverent and empowering, The F*ck It Diet is call to arms for anyone who feels guilt or pain over food, weight, or their body. It’s time to give up the shame and start thriving. Welcome to the F*ck It Diet. Let’s Eat.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book provides a very practical way to read your mind of the diet mentality over time. But it is very honest and may be hard for some if they aren’t ready to let go of what we think we know when it comes to body image in Health.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Best book I have ever read. Probably added years onto my life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5**update** it's been about a year since I listened to this book . While I still think it was fun and relatable, I've come to terms that this, like any book about a way of eating, is the author's personal experience and not everyone will have the same positive benefits. **Every woman (and probably man too) should listen to this book. I felt like she was reading my mind! Every time I'd think 'yeah, but what about..?', the author would address it. Listened one time thru, plan on listening again and following the writing exercises this time! I've been trying to reach this mindset on my own, but I really think her suggestions will help so much!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Caroline book is honest, funny and gives practical advise. I would recommend thia book to anyone struggling with their body image and hope to pass it on to my daughter when she is a teenager.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So much here that explains why weight cycling and dieting don’t work and is likely dragging you further and further from the peace and health that you want.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I laughed, I cried and I couldn’t stop listening. Then I listened again. Then I bought the book. Then I started the work. Love this book on a whole other level. Thank you for seeing into my heart and soul and then writing about it so that I could see it to…❤️
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I’ve been around lots of disordered eating in my life and dealt with it myself for a few years almost a decade ago; so while I don’t feel as though I needed everything in this book, it definitely was a great read which I got a lot out of. I will keep its advice in my head anytime I hear the negative talk that is unfortunately pretty typical, but I do feel like I’ve been able to talk more openly with people over the years too (especially when the title has one of my fave cussing phrases).
