About this audiobook
*Read for the first time by an all-female cast*
James Allen’s revolutionary treatise on the power of thought, combined with the bonus audiobook Mastery of Destiny.
Originally published in 1903, James Allen’s As A Man Thinketh reveals the fundamental truth of human nature: “A man is literally what he thinks.” Allen’s deceptively simple principle has changed the lives of millions of readers and listeners, making As A Man Thinketh a classic bestseller for decades.
Allen explains that our character, identity, ability, and success are all determined by the thoughts in our minds. Instead of finding ourselves victims of the world, there exists within each of us the ability to shape and define our own destinies. Finances, health, social status, and success are all external manifestations of the thoughts that populate our minds. Allen offers listeners an opportunity to seize control of their minds and in doing so create the lives they’ve always imagined.
This new edition combines As A Man Thinketh with another of Allen’s companion works, Mastery of Destiny. In Mastery of Destiny, Allen shows that the natural progression of human evolution is away from the evil that results from ignorance and towards ultimate good. Combined in one program, these two audiobooks offer a revolutionary outlook of empowerment.
This program is read by Adelia Saunders, Barrie Kreinik, Carly Robins, Eleanor Hutchins, Emily Bauer, Emily Lawrence, Fiona Hardingham, Greer Morrison, Joel Fotinos, Natalie Naudus, Sophie Amoss, Therese Plummer, Vivienne Leheny, and Xe Sands.

Born in 1864 in England, James Allen took his first job at fifteen to support his family. Allen worked as a factory knitter and later a private secretary before writing his first book, From Poverty to Power, in 1901. In 1903 he completed his best-known work: As a Man Thinketh. Allen wrote nineteen books, including his spiritual journal, The Light of Reason, before he died at age forty-seven in 1912. While not widely known during his lifetime, Allen later came to be seen as a pioneer of contemporary inspirational literature.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Every part of the journey of self determination, growth, and understanding what prevents us from reaching our true potential as humans is presented by James Allen. Nothing is shirked or held back. I became convinced that not only do I have the internal map to fully grow as a human being, in my hands, but the means by which that most important journey can be successfully navigated, towards an inspiring fulfilling conclusion. It is a humbling but fulfilling and mind expanding journey.
Just a reader convinced of the explosive power of this little but giant treatise on being truly, authentically, human - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fascinating content of a more than 100 years old book. Core principles known since more than a decade are now preached on all sozial media and becoming part of everyone’s life, slowly.
This book brings it to the point and provides a great guideline.
