      I'm not sure why this book didn't really work for me. It was written well enough, but I just never connected with the characters. It was okay as a bag of chips sort of historical romance, but it lacked the emotion and character focus I crave lately. /shrug

      Kleypas is always a favorite and I was especially looking forward to this book. The tension between Cat and Leo has been building for 3 books now, and I was very interested in seeing where she was going to take them.

      Cat has a secret and Leo wants to know what it is. He wants to know all of her secrets, especially the ones hidden under her clothes. But he knows it's a bad idea.

      Cat is scared to death of Leo finding out her secrets, because she knows once they've been revealed she'll have to leave..and she isn't ready to give up the Hathaways just yet.

      But they both surprise each other. Cat isn't the uptight spinster she pretends to be, and Leo isn't as callous and shallow as Cat has always thought him.

      Although this wasn't my favorite Kleypas, I did enjoy it quite a bit. The end bothered me, mostly because I felt like it was thrown in almost as an after-thought, just to add conflict. Plus, the conflict so paralleled that of Tempt Me at Twilight it was like I experienced deja vu.

      That aside the book was very well done. I loved the banter between Marks and Leo and how they constantly surprised each other. I also liked that Kleypas included the other Hathaways in a believable, yet unobtrusive way. They didn't take over the story, but enhanced it with their natural flair.

      I was told by a good friend that this was the best romance book she'd ever read, and went into it expecting something out of the ordinary. I was very disappointed. This was not a bad book, but it was to me a run-of-the-mill historical romance. I really didn't feel a connection between the main characters, even though they'd had four books to grow one. I also thought that a lot of the plot devices were hackneyed and banal, and found myself getting quite bored with the progression of this story. Guess my friend and I have vastly different taste in romance novels.

      I was still irked with Leo over his behaviour in earlier books. Even though he's been redeemed in previous volumes, he was still a colossal jerk. And Cat, once you stripped away her initial antagonism towards Leo, didn't have a really deep sense of character. But when they bantered, it was beautiful and I adored Dodger. Best use of a ferret in fiction? Maybe!

      I enjoyed this fourth book in The Hathaways series - so much so, that I read it in just a few hours!! I'd say it's a great beach/poolside/lazy day read.

      I found this a charming romance, two people who spark off each other find love, surmount obstacles and altogether have a great romance. I liked the characters and the story and I'm looking forward to Beatrice's story.

      A riveting romance, charming characters and the most adorable ferret to ever grace the pages of a novel.

      The love/hate relationship between Cat and Leo is intense and engaging. I had my doubts about Leo in book #1 but he is ultimately revealed to be one of the most compassionate and caring heroes in the series and comes a close second to my absolute favorite, Kev. Cat makes him believe in life and love again and his determination to love and protect her is admirable.

      Cat is a delightful heroine, snarky and witty, she knows just how to manage the devilish Leo. While her reluctance to marry him due to his past actions and her own traumatic past is understandable, it is a little too drawn out. Moreover, for such an intelligent and independent woman, she has an unfortunate tendency toward submissiveness in sexual situations. Don't get me wrong, the steamy scenes are intensely sensual and deeply emotional but Cat could have been a bit more aggressive.

      The suspense plot is the most compelling in the series thus far with a seriously smarmy villain and an exciting and romantic rescue scene.

      All in all, a wonderful addition to the series and I will be reading Beatrix's story very soon.

      Proper, bespectacled Winifred Marks is hired to chaperone and tutor the two youngest Ramsey girls in deportment. She and their brother, Leo, argue and butt heads constantly. He knows she's hiding something from her past and she knows he's a rake. He has inherited an estate but must marry and produce a male heir within 5 yrs or forfit his title. Lots of miscommunication and bickering before they realize they are perfect for one another.

      They say that opposites attract. We have the easy-going, relaxed, devilishly handsome, witty, let-life-happen, devil-may-care, aristocrat Leo Hathaway, also known as Viscount Ramsay. And then there is Catherine Marks...the extremely proper and polite, rigid, eye-glass wearing governess to Leo's youngest sister. The two cannot stand each other, constantly bickering and teasing. Yet, Leo can't stop thinking about her...and it's not the usual teasing and provoking that are occupying his mind.Catherine has lived through a sordid past, one she continues to hide from. Acting as governess to the youngest Hathaway siblings has allowed her to see what it is like to be a member of a family...a crazy one albeit, but one where you feel unconditionally loved and supported. Something Catherine knew would never be a reality for herself. And Leo.....well, he was everything she loathed....a gambler, immoral in his actions toward women and full of disrespect for his station in life. But God....he was handsome! It is a hot and steamy romance, one filled with desire, longing, passion, erotic love scenes and heart touching admissions. Watching Leo reveal more of his true self to Marks, allowing her to see the genuine man inside touched my soul. Marks managed to withdraw the armour around his heart and allowed him to love again. And in return, Marks learned to trust a man, a man who gave her his body and soul. If you are a fan of Lisa Kleypas or historical romance, you need to run out and get this one. It is a heart-stopping tale that will keep you laughing, sighing and wishing for your own Leo Hathaway.

      Working for the Hathaway family for years had Catherine Marks aware of the strange and unusual way the family did things. Finding that Leo Hathaway, Lord Ramsay himself was attracted to her was a shock she had never dreamed of. The way they always argued would never have lead her to believe that the attraction she had felt for him was reciprocated. Realizing that there were secrets being kept between them, Leo discussed it the best way he knew how, with Cat it what worked best was to argue or now he found that kissing could work too. The secret of her past is out, now will she still remain a part of the Hathaway home, or she could take up traveling.Book 4 .…. Predictable from start to finish, going into this one everyone (that read the previous books) knew that there would come a time when the bickering between Leo and Catherine would bring them together. It did not disappoint. Putting Cat in a stronger position to deal with the self proclaimed bachelor and then having her run away from it. Giving multiple reasons to make a marriage between the two a good idea as well as the wrong decision made this a fun rollercoaster type of ride while still being the predictably fun battle of wills between them. As always the inclusion of the rest of the family was fun for me, love to see how the rest are changing because of the love they now share, poor Beatrix, all alone with her animal kingdom needs her story - ( Love in the Afternoon)

      Leo’s book! Finally! I’ve been waiting so long for this moment. :D I’ve been rooting for Leo and Marks since Seduce Me At Sunrise, even if they clearly couldn't stand the sight of each of other then, but really, Leo needed to eat crow because of those nasty comments about dried-up matchstick legs, how a man had to be insane to want her, or how, for Heaven’s sake, she looked like the Grim Reaper. So yes, I couldn’t wait for Leo to fall for this woman, and love her, in his own words, like a madman.I absolutely loved the first half of the book, it was everything I hoped for and more, with Leo going after Cat constantly and not quite realizing what he was doing or why, while she allows it when her brain tells her to flee. I love these types of inner struggles. :DAbout the second half, Cat was getting on my nerves by refusing Leo all those times, mostly because she didn't have valid reasons to do so. Also, the kidnapping was a bit silly *methinks*, but the rescue was fun. Another small thing that bothered me was the fact that there isn’t an actual wedding in the story, I mean, come on, the book is called Married by Morning! :0But I loved it regardless silly kidnappings and lack of weddings… after all it’s a Lisa Kleypas book. *cue tiny flying hearts*

      So far, this is by far my favorite of the series. I fell in love with Leo from book one and I loved seeing how he progressed. Catherine was a bit questionable. I understand she went through a very tramatic event, but eight years is enough time to get over it!! And how could she not see that Leo is the perfect person to help her get over it?? I was slightly dissapointed that I didn't get a little bit more of Poppy and Harry in this book, but I was to wrapped up in the story to mind much! Lisa Kleypas has a special way with writing characters that keeps you engrossed even to the end. I'm glad I already have the last book in the series. I don't think I could wait otherwise!

      This is the 4th book in this great series of the Hathaway family.Leo has been a rake of the worse kind but now he is trying to reform along the way he has been having lots of arguments with his sister's paid companion Catherine Marks (who is the half sister to his most recent brother-in-law, Harry Rutledge). The sparks fly between them each time they meet - they are destined to be together and Leo realises that but it takes Cat a bit longer to acknowledge.It was a fun read, though at times I was a bit cranky with Cat and her attitude.

      Like so many other people I was very much looking forward to the romance between Leo and Miss Marks and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Kleypas is so good at creating characters and keeping the plots interesting with both humor and danger. Other upsides to this entry to the Hathaway series is that she didn't carbon copy her love scenes in this one and actually wrote something different and that she remained true to the characters and their emotional progression that we've been following through the preceeding books of the series. I also really, truly adored Dodger despite not really liking ferrets all that much in reality.Overall, very wonderful, very romantic and most certainly worth the wait.

      I, like other readers was excited for the release of this book. Leo and Mark's relationship has been building through the entire series. This book was good read. It settled the demons Leo had in his past. It revealed why Catherine had to live so secretly.There was nearly as much passion as in Amelia's or Win's story but it had parts that were very sweet even comical. It was a solid read that I would recommend.

      I don't know that this book was what I was expecting out of the main couple, but Leo and Marks remain one of my favourite couples I've come across in romance novels. The build-up to their book left me clutching at my heart several times.

      This is a nice addition to the series. I didn't like it as much as the previous ones but it was still a nice read.

      I liked Leo and Cat but their story is not as grabbing and alluring as the book about their siblings. I'm not really sure why since they are pretty likeable characters. I just didn't feel those good vibrations I had with the previous books.

      Catherine is hiding from her past but it becomes difficult since she and Leo feel the mutual attraction. On top of that, Leo has to marry and do it quickly or the family will lost their house.

      I generally enjoyed the story and I will definitely read the next book in this series.

Leo Hathaway has always found Catherine Marks, the paid companion to his sisters, mysterious yet suspects her of something else he can’t define, and these two go at it like cats and dogs, until one day their arguing ends up in a blazing passionate embrace, that leaves them both stunned and breathless, and leaving them wondering what are they supposed to do now, after they realize how much they are attracted to one another. When Leo finds out that he must marry within a year to save his family’s home, Leo is determined more than ever to find out the secret that Cat has been running from. Married by Morning was a sensation romance that I found myself hesitant to put down, and flipping through the pages as fast as I could read through them. Leo as a younger man, has loved once, but that love haunted him and almost destroyed him body and soul, so he has vowed never to love despite the fact that his siblings have found true love and happiness the likes of which he has never found for himself. Catherine Marks, hides beneath the facade of a companion to the young Hathways girls, whom she has helped polish into society. But the more she and Leo admit their passion for one another, the closer her past seems to haunt her, and she fears that she will have to leave the only family she has ever known and loved, especially the one man that could break her heart. I found the engaging interaction between these two intense at times, and witty at others, that I couldn’t help myself laughing throughout the book. I found Married By Morning to be a sexy, with alluring characters, and a romantically filled plot that had me breathless in anticipation with what was going to occur next in the suspensful plot that left me feeling satisfied. Truly a historical romance that you don’t want to miss out on or this wonderfully written series by a superb author that has stolen the heart of this avid romance reader!

      I'm not crazy about the 'enemies to lovers' plot-line, but more than that, I think these two characters are two of Kleypas' least dimensional, mature, or likable characters. =/ I enjoyed seeing the previous characters in their supporting roles though.

      Oh I love Leo and am so glad he found his HEA with Cat. It was nice to see the enemies part of enemies to lovers go fairly quickly because it’s not my fave, but we learned so much more about Cat and her backstory. I feel like this is the one book of the series that shouldn’t be read as a standalone because it’s lovely to see how much Leo goes through to get to where he is in love with Cat.

      I deleted all my quotes. Anyway, no surprise to love the charming & devious sweet-talker who would do anything for his sisters or the woman who challenges him. This book was just plain fun in a way I didn't expect it to be - it was lighter than I'd anticipated-which I appreciated.

      After the complete and utter letdown of #3, it was nice to read a book where the majority was dedicated to the couple...I'm really looking forward to Beatrix's book!

      romantic, erotica, England*****This series must be memorable as I have had print copies run away and bought the audio in 2013.The oldest brother of the rather unusual family seems at times to be wrapped entirely too tightly and at others seems to be a rake of the first order. The adopted sister has loved him since forever but has some awful secrets that keep her from even hoping that anyone would love her now that she is a grown woman. Yes, it is a happily ever after.Narrator extraordinaire Rosalyn Landor does the impossible by making the book even better.

      So basically, I jumped out of bed, in my PJs to the nearest bookstore. Got the last 2 books from the Hathaways saga, and headed back to bed to continue. Oh the bless of a good book and a mug of tea!

      Cat's story was sad, but I thought it was worse than that!! The way Leo is obsessed with her is so beautiful. But I was mad at her for being so stubborn when they both know she wants to marry him!!!

      And Leo! Always the funny crazy one!! Just perfect!

      Leo thinks Catherine is far too outspoken, opinionated, and obstinate for a companion, and Catherine has an equally high opinion of her employer. For the sake of his sisters, however, Leo manages to strike an uneasy truce.

      But when he suddenly discovers he has one year to find a wife and produce an heir or lose the family’s beloved home, the first (and only) woman he even considers marrying is the one who drives him crazy. The only problem is that Catherine is a lady with secrets, and one of those secrets is about to destroy her carefully cultivated new life unless Leo can convince her to trust him to help set things right.

      Audio-3.4 stars. This is a difficult romance. A prickly spinster type and an ex rake. They have been fighting since they first laid eyes upon each other. They fight, and fight, meanwhile her past is coming back to haunt her and his future is in great danger of loss. The best character- Dodger the Ferret, he steals every scene.
      I found it predictable, this story just didn't surprise me at all. I enjoyed it, the characters, all are very well written, I just thought the plot was a bit weak.
      I can't wait to read the next book which I hope to be Beatrice's book- I love her and her animals.
