    This Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) independent training course manual from the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) provides dam owners and operators with information pertaining to security awareness, protective measures, and crisis management.

    Crisis Management is the first course in the Dams Sector Web-based training series. This course explains how crisis management is an important component of an overall risk management program. In addition, it provides guidelines to assist owners and operators in developing Emergency Action, Continuity of Operations, Pandemic Preparedness, and Exercise plans.

    Identify the elements of risk management as they relate to the Dams Sector.

    Describe the purpose and elements of an Emergency Action Plan.

    Describe the purpose and elements of a Recovery Plan.

    Describe the purpose and elements of a Continuity Plan.

    Describe the purpose and elements of pandemic preparedness.

    Describe the purpose and types of exercises.

    Primary Audience - All Dams Sector facility owners and operators, with emphasis on owners and operators seeking the fundamentals of the crisis management elements of a risk management program.

    Topics covered include evacuation planning and implementation, vulnerabilities, site-related, interdependency, access and access control, operational security, industrial systems control.
