- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book has so much creativity, talent, and love for books in it! I adore altered art forms and I, too, struggle with cutting or otherwise "defacing" a book. I love reading and cannot ever remember a time where I didn't! My love for books and reading started pretty much as soon as I could read at 4. By 8 years old I was reading To Kill A Mockingbird because my cousin was assigned the book in her English class as a sophomore in high school. Its still one of my favorite books to this day! I was able to find some specific books I thought would make marvelous altered projects, one is the encyclopedia of occultism and the other is an encyclopedia of medical and anatomy, both from the 1800s Victorian period. They have magnificent illustrations and we're both slightly damaged on the very plain, boring (compared to the internal wonders of the book) hard covers. Even still, I haven't been able to bring myself to carve into them! This book gives oodles of inspiration and such wonder! I would love o have this in book form! I grapple with pdf books, on the one hand, I adore being able to instantly have any book I want to read without ever leaving home. On the other, additions to my physical library have come to a standstill. This book is worth at least looking at the pictures, even if you have no interest in who, what, where, when or why.
