About this ebook
On June 18-19, 2002, the Bureau of Reclamation and Department of History at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, hosted a symposium on the history of Reclamation. The symposium was held in conjunction with the Bureau's centennial anniversary birthday party at Hoover Dam. Reclamation's history is a rich tapestry filled with the politics, colorful personalities, and the unique character of the West. It is marked by engineering accomplishments and economic growth woven into the tapestry of western water development and delivery. These essays prepared for Reclamation's history symposium in 2002 add new dimensions to the story of Reclamation.
