About this ebook
Ten years ago, I had over $440,000 debt and 72 creditors, including student loans, a home loan, two business loans, and three credit cards, which I took out other loans to manage. Everywhere I travel, I meet people who are struggling to stay married while paying off debt: Some have two incomes, marriage counseling, pay-day loans, and borrow from retirement to preserve financial peace. This book is a help for those who want a strong marriage and no money worries. What I’ve done isn’t hard. I’ve made being frugal and simple, easy, inexpensive and most of all enjoyable. No extreme positions. I don’t talk about high leverage, denial, or deprivation. I’m just interested in teaching you practical ways to be frugal. Ways that work in a busy lifestyle. You already know you need to get better financially. You know that saving, being thrifty, and eliminating debt need to be a big part of that. But you don’t see yourself becoming a tightwad. That’s okay here. I straddle the luxury world and the minimalist world. I’ll help you get unstuck from the consumption mindset. I’m a regular guy. I drive cars, watch movies and enjoy traveling with my family. I play basketball with friends, attend family parties, and serve in church. I don’t want to spend the day budgeting any more than you do. You can do it. And you don’t need to do freakish things like sell all of your possessions or never enjoy beverages again. I teach you to spend 80-90% less while enjoying a better lifestyle, in abundant ways that won’t take years. I teach preparation for emergencies keeps money in your pocket. I also help you use your dreams and passion to create additional streams of income and reverse the effects of relying on others for your financial future. I believe this abundant lifestyle is both do-able, for a long, bountiful life. My greatest passion is teaching families. We have been overspending for three generations while relying on credit cards and hyper-consumption. We have to turn things around NOW. Let's get started!
