About this ebook

In Shelley Shepard Gray’s second book in her Charmed Amish Life series, a young teacher and farmer discover they have much in common, especially when it comes to healing old wounds from the past…and finding love in one another.

Rebecca Kinsinger has always dreamed of being a teacher. But when she’s given the opportunity she’s been waiting for at Charm Amish School, she’s dismayed to discover that teaching is hard work—work she’s afraid she’s not very good at.

That is, until Lilly Yoder joins the class. A thirteen-year old who’s just lost her parents, Lilly is in need of someone like Rebecca. For the first time since starting her new job, Rebecca feels a sense of purpose. But when she meets Lilly’s uncle, Jacob, his good looks and sweet, easy-going temperament are hard to ignore. How can she even entertain romantic thoughts of Jacob when his niece is her student?

Suddenly becoming Lily’s sole caregiver, Jacob Yoder never thought he’d be a single parent—or a farmer. Having been living in Florida as a carpenter, Jacob feels more at home wielding a hammer than a backhoe. The only bright spot in his life is Rebecca Kinsinger. As Lily and Rebecca develop a bond, Jacob’s fondness for the pretty teacher grows, too.

But when a fateful accident brings them together, Rebecca and Jacob must choose between duty and desire. Will they follow the path before them? Or set out to find true happiness…and true love?

This is the second book in The Charmed Amish Life series, and we are back Charm Ohio, and back with some old friends that we made in the first book.Darla and Lukas are now married, and living with Lukas’s family, all except Levi, and no one seems to knows where he is.Lukas gives his sister Rebecca a chance to follow her dream of becoming a teacher, and as she is trying to find her footing, we follow her around. While filling in at the school she meets a newly orphaned girl Lilly, and her Uncle Jacob, who has taken over the job of raising her. While Rebecca has lost both of her parents, she tries to help Lilly, but we find her failing. Will Rebecca be able to fulfill her dreams of teaching, and will she end up making a difference in Lilly’s life? Will the sparks that I noticed between Rebecca and Jacob amount to anything, or will one of the other men at the factory who have an eye on Rebecca win her heart?I loved being back with these friendly and kind Amish families, and they are really on the road to recovery after the devastating fire.I received this book though Litfuse Publicity Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.

As we grow up we all have a dream of being something. It may be a dream to be a nurse, firefighter, doctor or even an author. For Rebecca her dream was to be a teacher. She wanted to teach children and watch their smiles as they learned their lessons each day. But alas, it was only a dream since she worked at the family's mill . She was a hard worker and was a very kind hearted person. She always tended to others needs and put her own aside. Her one bright spot in her day was the opportunity to volunteer at Charms Amish school house. What joy it brought her to be able to help at the school house. Jacob has returned to Charm Ohio so he can be the guardian for his niece Lily. He also has come back to help his dad on the farm. As he begins to work long hours on the farm and observes how well he rebuilt a stall , his dad suggests he get a job working at the mill. I wonder who he will see there everyday at the mill? I absolutely loved the story and felt surrounded by the characters as they came to life with the soft gracefulness of the authors writing. The story just flows so easily and really keeps your attention. Will Rebecca's dream ever come true? Will Jacob get up the courage to pursue Rebecca when he realizes his attraction to her? Sometimes we look for love everywhere, when it was right in front of us all along. This is a wonderful story that reminds us that sometimes our dreams aren't always what God has planned for us. The main characters will deal with conflict, decisions and find out that their talents are valuable and can be used in places they never considered before. Thsnk you for another exceptional story that I will remember for a long time. I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I laughed and cried through this wonderful book. Rebecca and Jacob are great together. They both have fallen into lives that they are not sure they enjoy. Should Rebecca become a teacher or should she continue to help out at her families business. Should Jacob continue to farm badly or do what he loves. This is a wonderful Amish love story. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion.

Title: A Daughter’s DreamAuthor: Shelley Shepherd GrayPages: 272Year: 2016Publisher: Avon InspireSeries: Charmed Amish Life #2My rating is 5 stars.Rebecca Kinsinger is the focus on the second installment in the Charm Amish Life series. Rebecca works at the family’s lumber mill in the front office. Lukas is now married to Darla. Rebecca is one of the people Lukas relies on at the mill for her excellent way of handling the men and demands of the front office. Plus, working with her brother she knows how best to help him without much being said, but her dream is to be a teacher. When the local teacher who is married becomes pregnant, Rebecca is the one who is asked to fill in for her. However, Rebecca has a revelation that will affect who will replace the teacher when she has the baby in the spring.Lilly has moved in with her uncle and grandparents after losing both her parents in an accident in Ohio. Jacob is now thirty, has never been married or had children, and is learning how to be a father to his niece as she is entering her teen years. However, what really brings Lilly to the attention of Jacob is when he learns how gifted this young lady is and has to make some decisions about her education. While neither Jacob nor Rebecca is actively looking for romance, Lilly is a catalyst to try and bring one to the attention of the other. Both the first book, A Son’s Vow and this second book, A Daughter’s Dream, I think will grab the heart of readers, escaping for a few hours to the small town of Charm. The author makes the characters, events and situations very lifelike and entertaining to read. There are moments of laughter and moments of brief tension in the town’s life.I really am enjoying the series not because they are Amish novels but the story that the author tells readers. The series in order begins with A Son’s Vow, followed by A Daughters’ Dream, A Sister’s Wish and An Amish Family Christmas.

Rebecca always dreamed of being a teacher, but instead, she went to work at her family’s lumber yard. She gets the chance to volunteer and help out in the classroom, but things don’t go well for her. She fears her dreams and her abilities may not lie in the same direction. Newly-arrived Jacob knows what he likes to do, but that doesn’t correspond to what he feels he should do. How these two resolve their problems makes for some interesting reading. Adding to the mix is Jacob’s recently orphaned teenaged niece, who also came to live with Jacob’s parents. Well written characters people this interesting tale, the second in The Charmed Amish Life series.
