About this ebook

Do You Really Exist?

This question has been proposed and postulated by many philosophers and free thinkers for millennia.  Some have given valid arguments as to the true nature of our existence but until the advent of modern science, there have been no experiments or discoveries that could bring us close to an answer.

Many of the ancient teachings tell us that our existence may not be all that it seems to be with some of the greatest avatars in history proclaiming that everything exists only through thought.  Could thought alone be responsible for everything that exists in our realm of reality?

This book will look closely at our reality in terms of an advanced computer controlled simulation and try to explain things from the interpretation of everything being pieces of code held in the memory banks of such a sophisticated piece of technology.

Inside you will find details of scientific discoveries, ancient philosophies and theories regarding our existence and modern day new thought practitioners who believe that this simulated reality can be easily moulded to suit our desired outcomes in life.

By closely looking at anomalies and glitches in the system it can be explained in terms of a computerised system where corruption in the memory and software itself can explain things like the Mandela Effect and even the great flood myth.

This thought-provoking book will leave you questioning your own existence, the vastness of this simulated reality and open your mind to the possibility that we can bend and mould the system to achieve our goals in life.

Tadhg O'Flaherty

Tadhg O’Flaherty was born in Limerick, Ireland in 1977. Tadhg attended the University of Limerick as a mature student and graduated in 2013 with a B.Sc. in Computer Game Development. As a computer whizz-kid Tadhg was naturally inept at writing until he discovered that by utilising the Law of Attraction he was able to seamlessly transition into the field and is now a full-time author with two books currently self-published on Amazon. Tadhg’s second book “Surviving a Realistic Zombie Apocalypse” gained local notoriety within days of publishing and was featured on the front page of the Limerick Leader newspaper, which has a readership of 110,290, and also received airtime on local and national radio.

    Introduction

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

    Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

    ––––––––

Are we really alive?  This question has been asked by some of the brightest minds to ever exist and postulated by ancient philosophers.  Recent scientific studies are trying to answer that very question with surprising results.  Some ancient teachings, when studied closely, suggests that this entire reality may only exist because we think it exists.

    ––––––––

While there are many different theories surrounding the computerised simulation hypothesis, there are equal amounts that go far beyond the probable or explainable, from our existence being just a brain in a jar to Earth being a tiny component on a circuit board.

    ––––––––

Having a background in Computer Science I will endeavour to answer questions of our reality from the view of us being pieces of software existing within, and interacting with, various other pieces of software.

    ––––––––

Being housed inside a simulated world may seem like an outrageous prospect but it is very probable that we wouldn’t even notice.  If a lab rat is born in a dark box, having never experienced light, and goes on to procreate, creating further generations of rats who never grow up being exposed to light, would these creatures even know what light was?  Could it even be perceived in their minds eye?  Just because we live here, experience pain, perceiving our existence as real does not mean it is real.

Science suggests that you may not really exist

Technology has advanced more in the last thirty years than in the previous two thousand.  The exponential increase in advancement will only continue.

    Niels Bohr (1885-1962)

Science has made remarkable leaps since the end of the
