of changed lives, lives infused with the Holy Spirit.
Those accounts tell the story of God’s renewing the church
and carrying men and women to new heights in their desire
to serve God and live out their discipleship.

renew God’s people, and it is the story of willing disciples
ready to take up their crosses and be the church.
In telling the history of The Walk to Emmaus, I realized that I was not familiar with many behind-the-scenes occurrences that helped shape the course of Emmaus. I can tell only what I know—the most important factors and decisions that went into those first seven years when I served as International Director of The Walk to Emmaus in Nashville. The most important history of Emmaus resides in the stories of changed lives, lives infused with the Holy Spirit. Those accounts tell the story of God’s renewing the church and carrying men and women to new heights in their desire to serve God and live out their discipleship. Anyway, let’s get started in telling the story of this experience called The Walk to Emmaus.
