1. Your Human Condition
If someone told you that you could make a million dollars by just walking out to your mailbox, would you do it? If you believed them probably you would do it immediately! But of course you probably would not believe that it is so easy to get a million dollars.
In this book I am going to give you six skills that can totally change your life if you use them! It is not important whether or not you believe what I tell you about these skills. What is important is if you give yourself a chance to actually use these skills and see if they work for you. I am a person who gives seminars in how to improve your life- to reduce stress and relax yourself, to make more money, have better relationships, be healthy and enjoy this wonderful life that you have. I also counsel people showing them how to use simple skills to change their life and get beyond what they think
or perceive
as insurmountable problems. The skills you will learn in this book come from my years of experience in counseling people and watching what worked for them and from my own studies of intuitive and transformational abilities that change both your inner consciousness and outward actions.
If you want to change your life you cannot just read a book and change how you think. You have to take action and use ideas to change what you do. The simple yet powerful skills in this book show you how to change what you do. I can honestly say that once you use these skills consistently in your life you will never be the same. You will discover the true essence of personal power. Personal power is not making more money or controlling other people. Personal power is realigning yourself with the universal energy source so everything naturally works for you. Personal power is going with the powerful natural flow so that there are no coincidences in your life but only the natural aligning of yourself to the greater power so that you fulfill your true destiny in a wondrous, loving and joyous manner.
Why you will want to use these skills
When you wake up in the morning how do you feel? Are you happy, energized and excited to get up and experience another day? Do you feel joy and wonderment at being alive? Or do you wake up with anxieties, worries, feeling tired and weighed down with responsibilities and conflicting emotions? This is your life. What kind of life have you created for yourself? Do you like it the way it is? Would you like to improve it or change it? Do you know how to change your life?
The skills in this book will present you with a very basic easy way to make a very quick and powerful change in your life. Most books are for reading and understanding with your mind. This book works very differently since I am presenting skills to you. Understanding the skills will not change your life. But if you choose to take these skills and integrate them into your daily experience and use them consistently and often in the next three months you will experience an outstanding shift in your life.
You can give yourself the permission to own your true innate power. True power is not the external power (armies, authorities and governments, money, status and symbols of violence) we so often think gives us the ability to get material goods but the internal power (the connection with the divine universal consciousness that sustains every human being) that enables you to live with and understand yourself and totally change your ability to create your reaction to the world around you.
When you gain external power it is often seen that someone else lost something. You’re getting a job, or some money or some material gain can often be seen as another person’s losing it. And so if you gain something externally you also fear losing it. When you gain something internally it is seen as the ability to share the understanding, love, joy and universal connection with others. It is not a loss but a gain. True power is of the internal nature that is the real underlying controlling power in your life. Internal power is the ability to love, to feel good about yourself and others, to share your feelings and vulnerabilities and to turn your fears into strengths. Internal power allows you to experience joy and bliss. Our societies value external power but it is the internal power that gives you the strength to act externally.
Many years ago I had a friend, a woman in her seventies who suffered the loss of her son to an automobile accident. She was devastated. Loss of a child is one of the most difficult types of loss. One day her daughter called me. She told me her mother was getting suicidal and was terribly upset all of the time and no one knew what to do. Can you help her?
she asked me. Her daughter explained that she did not think her mother really wanted to commit suicide but that somehow she was so distraught that this was her way of asking for help. I could not bring back her son. Nor could I stop the natural process of grief. But I could show my friend how to lessen the pain. I taught her the third step listed in this book and persuaded her to use it over and over again. Soon her daughter called me thanking me for helping her mother to live with the loss. You could see a physical difference in her eyes and the way that she held her body. She still held the grief but now it was not overwhelming her!
One day in the 1980`s when I had a practice in the San Francisco Bay Area a lady came to me who had a difficult fear. She was afraid of riding in elevators. Most of the time she had never really had to face her fear. She had worked in an office building where the office was only three stories up and when everyone else took the elevator she would just walk up the stairs. But in the last month the company she worked for had moved to another building and this suite of offices was located on the twentieth floor! She was frightened. First she would go to work early and walk up the twenty flights but this left her sweaty, breathless and wiped out! After work she did not want to leave with everyone else since they expected her to get into the elevator with then! When she got into the elevator she would sweat profusely and feel claustrophobic and want to scream. She had to restrain herself from panicking and screaming. She did not want to lose her job but she did not know how much longer she could continue going to work. I worked with her for ten months. We used all of the six steps in this book and I showed her how to release fear and panic and how to feel safe and secure and how to breathe well to deal with a panic situation. It was slow work but eventually she could ride in an elevator without the fear. It took persistent and consistent work using skills for her to shift. But once she shifted her whole outlook of life changed. Once she could ride in the elevator she began to believe that she could do anything she set her mind to. Two years later she called me back to say that she had been promoted to a much higher position at work with a very good salary and it had all happened because she had learned to release her fears and believe in herself!
Learning to release your fear and to believe in your own ability is using your Internal Power.
I call this the quick key to success and happiness.
The Human Condition
Health, Wealth, Joy, Happiness, Love and the pursuit of freedom can be yours.
Do you feel that you are a happy person? Are you comfortable with yourself and your life? Or during your normal day do you feel sadness, grief, painful emotions, fear, confusion and shifting emotions? Do the people around you seem happy and well balanced or do you feel that they are just hanging on to balanced reality by a thread?
From years of doing counseling, observing people on the streets of cities around the world, and presenting seminars that enable people to change their emotional matrixes quickly I have come to some basic conclusions about the human condition.
If we could make a chart of the comfort zone of the average person I believe that we would find that most people are at the lower end of that chart. Most people stay in the shallow area of the beach of emotions so that they do not feel as much but they also do not have to worry about drowning in their emotions either. Then they hide their fears and their emotions as far away as possible hoping never to have to face them. Unfortunately some new situation occurs or something unexpected triggers the hidden fear or emotion and then it is as if a big wave has come and swamped their beach and they drown in their forgotten fears and emotions. When people hide away their fears and emotions they think they are gone but those emotions stay just beneath the conscious surface and affect everything that you do. Those hidden fears and emotions control what you allow yourself to feel and in that way they control your salary, your relationships, your ability to love yourself and others and your ability to enjoy yourself in the moment.
When people hang on to these emotions they are in pain. Most people are not aware that these fears and emotions are internally causing them to restrict their options in life and to feel a constant level of pain just below the surface of their consciousness. Most people think that they are happy or at least doing all right. And it is a matter of comparison. Because if these people learn some basic skills, such as the ones presented in this book, and practice those skills daily then suddenly they come to a whole different level of practical everyday consciousness. They release the invisible fears and emotions that hide beneath the surface and suddenly there is no pain, there are no restrictions to success, abundance, love and the joy of living and they are whole or one with themselves and the natural order of
