    How This Book Came to Be

    One day, about a week after I spoke at a women’s retreat, the LORD spoke to me. He asked me this question: Did you enjoy bringing Me glory?

    My heart swelled up with joy as I answered my heavenly Father, Oh yes, LORD! I loved bringing You glory!

    Then I heard my LORD say, Then write a book.

    I feel like I am the last person who should be writing a book! I am not a master of English grammar, nor am I a wordsmith in any way. However, if there is one thing I desire more than anything else in this world, it is to please my heavenly Father and bring Him glory, honor, praise, and fame. So I wrote this book in obedience to my LORD and to display what a wonderful heavenly Father we have. I am one more voice among millions to bear witness that He is who He says He is: Father, Savior, Redeemer, and Lover of our soul.

    Introduction

    Anyone who follows Jesus has a story to tell, and every one of those stories has two parts. First is the account of how—perhaps suddenly and dramatically or maybe slowly and subtly—we came to recognize our sinfulness, our need for a Savior, and the truth that Jesus is indeed the Savior of all mankind provided by God. The second part—and it can have many, many chapters—testifies to how God has shown us His love and His faithfulness in personal and powerful ways. I share in the following pages both parts of my story—how I came to name Jesus as my Savior and Lord as well as a chapter (and God has blessed me with many!) showing what He did in my life to show me His love and faithfulness and to reignite my love and passion for Him.

    Part 1 of this book is my testimony, yet I believe the story gains relevance to everyone as it reveals our Savior’s love and God’s relentless pursuit of the lost. My prayer is that God will use this testimony to help you grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:18-19 NIV).

    Part 2 of this book—based on a talk I shared at a women’s retreat—tells of a special season in my life, a season when the Lord lovingly interrupted my plans in order to bring me balance and a greater understanding of His sovereignty. My hope is that God will use my story to encourage you to trust Him with all of your heart. Sometimes life can be so full and get so busy that we may forget that we have a heavenly Father who knows what we need even before we ask Him.
