Description

Taylor and Travis begin their preparations for the 2018 MLS season by taking a look at some of the top young talents around the league, and what their short-term futures hold. Who will crack the first team, who will get familiar with the bench, and who will most likely be playing in the USL? We've got the answers! So, if you're inclined to hear lots of talk about names like Andrew Carleton, Chris Durkin and Reggie Cannon, then this show is for you! We also briefly take a look at the results of the U17 and U20 Women's National Teams, and answer three listener questions: 1) What's going on with Andrija Novakovich and what does his future look like? 2) Regarding Academies that require players to participate in “blended learning” environments, what information do we have about A) their effectiveness in terms of providing rigorous academic instruction, and B) their effect on the social/emotional development of players? 3) Why do other youth soccer associations dislike the Development Academy so much?   Today's show is sponsored by... HUDL! The folks over at Hudl are excited to announce the 2018 Innovator of the Year contest to reward hard-working innovators in club soccer. The grand prize is worth $50,000, so nominate yourself or someone you know at hudl.fun/innovate.
