Heat and dust is the history about a young English woman who decides to experience the mystical environment

of India to reconstruct the life of her grandfathers first wife, Olivia. Olivia had married Douglas 50 years earlier in England and then they moved together to Satipur where she first met the Nawab. Olivia and the Nawab first became friends to then become passionate lovers and fall in love. A very important decision would have to be taken by this young woman after she spent some time in India because this journey would change her life forever. The novel is written in a way in which two parallel stories progress in almost alternating chapters, stories of different lives that are linked by India and the impact of this different new world on them.
