8086 AND 8051

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 8086 AND 8051::: 1. 8051 has RAM,ROM incorporated in it, but in 8086 RAM,ROM are externally connected. 2. Speed of operation of 8086 is comparatively less than 8051. 3. In 8051 more number of pins are multifunctional. 4. 8051 has more number of instructions than 8086.

WORKING OF WASHING MACHINE

A slow motor turns a shaft with many disks with bumps on them. The bumps activate microswitches which control water on and off, heater on and off, the main motor at different speeds (wash and spin) and the pump for emptying. It controls the programming of the machine ie: Temp control, Spin cycles.

WORKING OF AIRBAGS
Airbags use a combination of design, sensor, and chemical technologies to deploy successfully during a collision. Deployment of the airbag is controlled by a sensor system, which consists of accelerometers. The sensors send a signal to the deployment mechanism only if the set of conditions are met.

15

CONDITIONS
Time= 0; automobile makes initial contact with the objects. Time= 30ms; microprocessor decide to deploy airbags. signal is sent to deploy mechanism. Time=32ms; the gases enters to the airbags. Time=60ms; finally airbag is fully inflated.

27

WORKING OF ABS
It prevents the wheels from locking up, helping the driver to maintain steering control during braking. When it senses that any of the wheels are approaching lock up during braking, the ABS computer sends the signal to the hydraulic control unit, which modulates the braking pressure for a corresponding wheel(s) preventing it from locking up.

WORKING OF A KEYLESS ENTRY

The system works by having a series of LF transmitting antennas both inside and outside the vehicle. The external antennas are located in the door handles. The key becomes activated if it is sufficiently close and it transmits its ID back to the vehicle via RF to a receiver located in the vehicle.

33

OTHER APPLICATIONS
The 8051 has been in use in a wide number of devices, mainly because it is easy to integrate into a project or build a device around. The following are the main areas of focus: i. Energy Management: Efficient metering systems help in controlling energy usage in homes and industrial applications. These metering systems are made capable by incorporating microcontrollers. ii. Touch screens: A high number of microcontroller providers incorporate touch-sensing capabilities in their designs. Portable electronics such as cell phones, media players and gaming devices are examples of microcontroller-based touch screens.
