Overview of Google Moon

The current version of Google Moon has four types of data. 1. Apollo mode: Apollo provides information about each of the Apollo missions, including placemarks, maps, images, video, and Streetview style panoramas, all provided by NASA. 2. Visible mode: This mode provides the satellite imagery for the Moon, provided by the Clementine mission. 3. Elevation: This shows a false color rendering of the Moon's elevation. 4. Charts: A Charts layer is also available. This shows Apollo-era geologic and topographic charts for certain areas of the Moon's surface.

Click on the planet and scroll down to Moon to open Google Moon.

Make sure the layers section is open and you have checked the icons you want to turn on in layers.

You can view the missions and craters. Click on the icon to read more about them.

Here you can see what happens after you click on the icon.

You can fly into pictures and actually see them in 360 degree view. The picture above shows the 360 degree view and the bottom picture shows after you have zoomed into the picture.

Also you can see the Surveyor 5 model here and information. It actually zooms into where they are located when you double click on the name under layers.

This is a sample of the chart. You can switch between geologic and topographic.
