1. In what region does your group live or / and use to live? The Aztecs lived in the region of Mesoamerica.

Their exact origin is unknown but believed they came from Aztlan or White Land. They were also known as the Tenochca, a name from their capital city, Tenochtitlan or the Mexica. They arrived in this region during the early 13th century after the fall of the Toltecs. 2. How did they live before the conquest? Before the conquest, they believed in several gods and believed that sacrifices would satisfy the gods. There were social classes known as the nobility (pilli), the common people (macehualli), different branches of education, and other traditions that would appease the gods. People who were lower than the nobility were in poverty, even though there was a lot of money. They had ball games with professional athletes such as Ulama. Eventually, due to their strong military traditions, they build an empire. 3. What languages are / were spoken by your group? The Aztecs spoke Nahuatl (Classical Nahuatl, Mexicano, or Aztec) primarily for trade, prestige, and mostly literature. Aztec language had words and phrases that are combined along with prefixes, suffixes, and roots to form an idea. Aztec lettering were mostly pictures such as pictograms, ideograms, and phonograms. It's a language that a few know today, but can be very complex and confusing.
