What is HRM
Human Resource Management is the process of acquiring, training, appraising and compensating employees, and of attending to their labour relations, health and safety and fairness concerns. In simple words, HRM means employing people, developing their capacities, utilizing, maintaining and compensating their services in tune with the job and organizational requirement.

Line and Staff aspects of HRM


Line authority gives managers the right to issue orders to other managers or employees. It creates a superior sub ordinate relationship Staff authority gives the manager the right to advise other managers or employees Usually line managers are associated with functions such as sales or production and staff managers run departments that are advisory or supportive, like purchasing, human resource management and quality control.
